while delivering a pizza in a block of flats i start walking down the hallway and see a ned (scottish chav) kick in the flat door and walk off, then i get out and see his mate pushing my work scooter down the road trying to kickstart it, i run up and get infront of the bike and grab the handle bars and brakes at same time and shout at him to get the fuck off. the wee wido claimed it was his bike now and started screaming at me to let him go. the guy was quite obviously drunk (and quite ugly too(he was ginger too)) and he just kept screaming, this is on quite a busy road as well and the people in the flats started watching and saw at least one person on the phone. the guy gets more abusive as raised his hand as if he was going to hit me, now im not saying im an awesome fighter or anything but me wearing a crapload of armour, steel toecap boots and knuckle dusters on my gloves nuckles it wouldnt end well for him. he eventually fucked off after trying to knock it over and make a exceedingly stupid comment that he mistook it for his brothers bike.

ummm it wasnt my door i live a gd few miles away, sadly if we initiate a fight we basically get sacked so we got to let them make the first move, which he didnt take. wasnt my bike either so i wouldnt make the first move, if he was on one of my bikes i would have beat him to a pulp.

dont think he really thought it through, it was pissing it down, he was in trackies, he didnt have keys, its a bright red scooter with pizza hut plastered all over it, the area has a crapload of cctv because there's a lot of rich people in the area.

Actually, thinking about it. It's pretty funny. I'd probably do that myself if I was drunk enough. Laughing

You caught him in the act of committing a criminal offence.

The law allows you to use reasonable force in order to detain him (ie. citizen's arrest). Spending the night in a police cell would at least piss him off, even if the case wasn't proceeded with.

Damz, Clarkston is not full of rich people,It's full of middle class types trying to get little jimmie and jane into what they think is a good school. Read a great article about a family renting a house and only 'living' in the front room to meet the people form the council when they came over so their kids could go to their school of choice.

Thumbs Up for going after the guy, but Thumbs Down for not delivering to me when I was in Eaglesham, because the 'village' is so far away Smile

Re CCTV, the authority there has a CCTV response team, and do happen to take enquiries about this kind of thing quite seriously, so letting the local plod know - I know there are never any round that part of the world for some reason, they can check back the footage in and around the area it happened. Although from personal experience, not much hope on a grotty night like you described.

Got to ask, is your logon, one of your prefered roads? Apologies to everyone for going all local.

If he actually signed a contract that said "I promise I won't try and do my civic duty and apprehend evil crims" then he's probably better off being fired - who knows what other shocking clauses he let slip by him!

I doubt very much that any company would want to be known for sacking an employee who caught a thief. If that doesn't bother them - then probably best not to be working there.

I've never found a fast food employer that wood actually be good to work for (acedotal evidence). However, they tend to be a pretty easy job and in his gets to ride around on two wheels and be paid for it, making it better than many other dodgy employers I suspect.

The law allows an offense to be used as a defence, IF a person is seen to be aggressive and in the process of a commission of a crime that may cause injury or damage to yourself or others.
All companies are obliged to follow the laws of the land and therefore if you had or are ever sacked in a similar pridicament you will be allowed to arse rape them at any tribunal and show it on youtube.

basically means you can throw the first punch

I got a flat tyre today... had to leave it outside a pub so that I can deal with it tomorrow morning...

... reading about drunk people and stealing bikes is the last thing i'd want to read about when my baby is all alone tonight.

I fancy a pizza tho.
