Hi All

I'm trying to get hold of some seat material to re-cover my seat but cant find the type I want.

It comes on most new bikes these days and has a weave pattern and is pretty grippy.

On the new FJR1300 as below (zoom in if you cant see)

I have been to a couple of haberdasheries local to me but not having any luck. All I can find is normal "leather style" vinyl/plastic stuff.

There was a site I was on a few months ago and it had the right material but I can't find it anymore all I remember is it had a dark green background Rolling Eyes

I have had a look at the saxonseat website and they have a similar material but not the same Sad I only want the material anyway as I can do the shaping and stitching myself.

Thanks!
Rich

I'm not sure where you can buy it, but I recently had my seat re-done by Tony Archer in Huddersfield. If you give him a ring he'll probably tell you where he gets it from as he's a really helpful bloke.

You can find his details on www.tonyarcher.co.uk. It can't be that expensive as he completely re-foamed (multiple densities) both my rider and pillion seats and recovered them with the stuff you are on about for £65 (for both, not each).

Same here. I've been trying to find that stuff that's like a sort of bumpy, textured suede. Actually, it might even be suede that I'm looking for.

Fabrics never were my area of expertise..
