ignition on....no revs :( help!!

hey guys
had an issue with my bike this morning which resulted in me having a huge strop in the yard and having to go to work in the car please help if possible....

so last night im riding my bike home (gsxr 600 srad) when it decides that it wants to change the idle speed to above and beyond 3000 revs from the 1200 it normal is at........eeek got it home and hoped it would be okay but couldnt check it out as i had to rush out to a family party but thought i may have just knocked the idle up by accident (dont ask me how i could do that but im unlucky in that way!) anyway so i get up this morning turn on bike as usual ie clutch in, check its in neutral and press ignition button, clicks as usual but no revs, sounds like someones heavy sighing but nothing else, no life at all. checked battery, thats fine, just no revs, any ideas??? dont think its the spark plug as it was sounding like it was sparking, however will need to look at it when i get home, but defiantely think its related to the revving up last night...?? any help will be much appreciated!!

oh on another note my choke lever wont budge, will a squirt of wd40 be good enough to sort it??

i really am a dunce when it comes to bike stuff!!

could be an air leak? does the bike start ir try to start?

So it doesn't turn over at all? Does sound awfully like the battery; when you say you 'checked it' what did you do?

Not quite sure how that could make the idle speed go up though.
