The Japanese have some seriously abnormal websites as far as what I would expect from a motorcycle dealer.

ms51ves3: why does it need 500 miles? Are you teaching it how to be a piston?

On the UK website:
https://www.kawasaki.co.uk/dualpurpose

Engine seems to be in cg territory, both for performance and fuel economy. Be nicer than a CG as a first bike, but suspect the price will reflect this.

'Ideal for novice riders and those new to Kawasaki' they claim... so Mr GSXR rider who has a K9 GSXR1000 should get one because he's never owned a Kawasaki Thinking.

I think that there is quite big culture difference between east and west parts of the the world. The design would be an effect of this reality.

I agree, they are targetting their home market which likes that sort of gimicky/quirky stuff. I kind like it too, better than the plain old pics of bikes at least on that website you gotta hunt for them pics. (ah the paw prints make sense)

Yeah that's exactly what it is. I spend a lot of time between both the east and west and this is just one of many differences. Bikers here tend to be from 17-60 where as over there it's mainly youths who ride them. Personally if I'm wanting to look at something I want to buy though, I want facts and photos straight up. No gimmicks or flash intros that waste precious time! I'd like to add their standard internet connection is much much better than ours. So loading times aren't a factor.

The UK site is much nicer to look at. That KMX250 is nice. Off road style Kwaks looks better in green than the road bikes do imo.

I presume you mean KLX250?
I got all excited, as a KMX would have been a 2 stroke, but instead we get a heavy and slow 4 stroke.
Claimed figures tend to be more accurate these days, but it's listed at something like 20kg more than the old LKX250, which was supposed to be an ok bike.

Sorry dude, yeah I meant KLX and I forgot all about the 2 stroke ban.

Doesn't seem as attractive now. Sad

Aesthetically pleasing though. All though the mud guard looks like it's bent. Smile

Most Gixer Thou' owners I know around here could do with going back to a 125 and learning how to use it properly.

UK kawasaki site is the best to learn new import models. Most of us check UK site first.
Regarding new kawasaki 125's site, kawasaki might try to acquire new customer who aren't interested in bikes yet. If some girls found this animation funny and pasted it to her blogs, it will generate new potential customers.

Make it funky, fun and appealing to all teenagers rather then market it to bikers only? Yeah, Fair enough. Smile

Although why the opening animation was telling me that Kawasakis' have the spirit of a pissing dog is a little strange. Mr. Green

Today I went to year end party of kwak shop at hotel, and there was D tracker 125 which isn't sold yet.
https://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b295/kawashima_/D-Tracker125.jpg
This pic was taken before she said "Pls don't take photo cause this isn't sold yet" Razz
It has 14 inch wheels. It's really compact, but not so small like KSR110. I felt it has good size for beginner. Seat isn't high.
Engine spec is only 10ps and not special at all. Front brake disk was petal one and it looked big because front wheel is only 14 inch. And front suspension is reversed one.
There was kawasaki motors person there too, so I asked some questions.
"Is this made in thailand kawasaki?"
"Yes, it's made in kawasaki heavy industry Thailand Fab"
"Is ER-6 also made in Thailand?"
"Yes but not all of ER-6 I remember, maybe f or n ... hmm"
"Recently I read kawasaki will shift production to Thailand, and it will make larger models than 650 from now, what model will they actually make over 650?"
"At present, Thailand Fab is doing practice level. It's too early to make 4 cylinder models yet"
"Do you think there is difference in quality between akashi and Thailand?"
"Akashi peoples go to Thailand Fab and educate them, so it isn't that there is problem in Thailand. But for example, Japanese users request higher quality than users in Thailand. That leads to the difference."
(I wanted to say regarding ER-6 users, they are not mainly in Thailand, but in Europe I stopped saying that)
"What is difficult in making 4cylinder models?"
"It is required good mixture balance of low emission, high power, and cost."
Articles says Thailand fab will make larger models than 650 soon, but he was saying some few years period for practice(by making 650cc) is necessary for Thailand fab before it start larger models.
So I can say ER-6 and Versys are being made for Thailand fab training.
