Parking ticket "time served"

Hi,

l recived a parking fine for £120 from the city of London dated for the 22/07/09 but was only "notice" to me on the 06/11/09 is this massive gap in giving me notice allowed?


(no ticket was on my bike at this date and l was parked in a bike bay down "St bride street", remeber it as l had a interview there.)

If not received within 14 days of the offence I don't think it's worth the paper it's printed on - I may be wrong but that's what I'm sure it is.

If you were parked in a bike bay, why the ticket? Had the bay been suspended or were you parked slightly outside?

There is no time limit for parking attendants, they can come after you whenever they want. You, on the other hand, have just 28 days to respond.

Your grounds would be that (a) you were parked wholly in a non-suspended bike bay and (b) you never received the PCN.

City of London parking attendants take photos of the offending vehicles, so they'll send you this photo. They probably won't cancel the PCN just because you never received it, but will reduce the fine to the original £60 (if paid within 28d).

You need to make representations asap and ask for an explanation why you got a ticket.

I,ve stated both thoses points on the appel sheet issued with the notice just got to wait for a reply, l was right on the edge of the box but still inside it (due to a fu*king BMW C1 rider taking up 3 spaces).

What do you mean by your 'time served' comment?

What have you actually received, an NtO or a court notice?
