Hi mate, yup bike will handle this fine ( I have one ) check out https://www.125varadero.com/forum2/index.php?act=idx some of the guy's on there have done some epic journeys, bikes with panniers and camping gear loaded on. Bike will do 70 so just give it a break now and then by dropping to 60-65 for a while. Its a Honda 4 stroke so is a good strong engine, just make sure you service it lube and adjust chain etc regular. Enjoy and welcome to the forum Thumbs Up

Hi!

It seems that at least once a month I end up going on a journey on my CG125 of 300 - 400 miles. I manage this absolutely fine (sometimes 9 hours on the road) and your bike is way more comfortable than mine Thumbs Up

I'm not sure there really is much advice to be given, long journeys are there to just get on with and enjoy. Make sure you take cash with you as spare petrol money, don't attempt crazy overtakes on singe lane country A roads if you don't know them very well and generally just learn to take it easy, especially on a 125 - sometimes cruising closer to 55MPH (rather than 65~) is a lot more enjoyable and the engine is working so much less. You don't lose much time from it either.

Check chain, tires and oil and off you go Mr. Green

ms51ves3: why does it need 500 miles? Are you teaching it how to be a piston?

I do about 130 miles back home from uni every other friday, then back again on the sunday on my CG, and its fine. Takes about 4 hours, 1.5 of which on dual carriageway.
I just try to keep to about 55mph and it seems fine. Im so paranoid of it breaking down all the time though, or the chain snapping, or getting a puncture, but seems all i get is a numb arse.

Just wear lots of layers, it gets hella cold just sitting there.

I am with A5tra_G on this. I have an 05 Vara and they are fine for long trips - very comfy and can take luggage with no issues. They are not the fastest 125 on the planet but they will happily sit at 60-65 all day and the v twin means you will stull be able to feel your legs when you get off. Absolutely top bikes and big enough to have good road presence so car drivers tend to give you more respect even with L plates.

I am trading mine in on Thursday for a bigger bike but I will be sad to see her go!

Well I bought mine from Glasgow and drove it up to Thurso and no problems at all , Dual Carrigway and A roads, sitting at 60-65 most of the way
