The bike will handle better and generally work better than you are used to, that can only be positive and confidence inspiring thing.
Also the school is teaching you techniques to use, I would say you are more likely to adopt new styles and techniques on a new bike than one that feels like a pair of slippers and you have your old habits on??? Dunno, depends on person that one.
At the end of the day the school caters for everyone, as such I can't see it could NOT be worth you going - you are bound to get something out of it, even if it is just some cool oh-shiteeeeeeeee stories!! ____________________ The purpose of life is to fight maturity. |

The Ron Haslam day is run more of an 'experience' from what I've read/heard. You don't get much track time and pay quite a bit for it.
However, it is aimed from the very bottom skill level up, so you should be fine in that regards and probably find you are far from the slowest/most scared there . |

i done the haslam race day, i got brought it as a christmas present last yesr, i found it very helpfull in improving my track riding (body position mainly) Don't worry about been fast or slow because they move you, the lad i was first paired up with seemed to have a phobea of turning and leaning, so they took us apart so i could go fast
if it was coming outof my pocket i would feel it was about £100 too much but it is good and you only live once!
................PLUS.............PLUS wont the new track be done for next year?? ____________________ 04 ZX10R ~ |

Just do a normal trackday.
Cheaper, and you'll probably get an equal amount from it. ____________________ My Flickr |

+1
Even on a 500, you'll be faster than most on a normal trackday.
Seriously, you won't belive how slow some people go, the worst 2 offenders on the novice day I did was a 09 Repsol Fireblade and a Ducati 999....
I was being overtaken more by the older, less flashy bikes.
There was a bike, not even sure what it was in my last intermediate group, but size-wise must have been a 400, and it was spanking me all day.
I was scared of hitting the track through fear of being too slow....but once I did it, I realised I'm not that bad atall.
Plus, when you fly past a brand new litre bike like it's standing still...you feel like you could take on Rossi himself.
