come on guys i need help and you never mentioned how to do it so im just wondering... is it just as simple as disconnecting a wire or should i forget it and just buy a racing cdi????

how about you buy a proper bike? that'll increase your top speed loads.

or ask your local mechanic about red powerbands. but be careful no one overhears you, they're not for road use. Thumbs Up

thanx i do have a proper bike a Fzr 400, the jog is just a toy lol thanx for commenting and giving stuffall info on how to do it if you dont know dont post.

As far as I know there is no restriction on the CDI of a Yamaha Jog.

Only restrictions are a variator washer and a resonator tube on the exhaust.

Thanks mate, i have taken the washer out of the pipe
i got told to check the carby for a washer that restricts full throttle, nothing there.

i get mine to about 54 kmh and then it feels like a govener kicking in so i thaught it might be the cdi.

how hard is it to remove the variator washer.

It's pretty easy. You need something to hold onto the variator so you can undo the nut, I used a Boa Constrictor. You can find them in the plumbing section of B&Q.

is it worth getting a racing CDI???
im aiming for acceleration not top end i want it to be a wheelie machine lol

it already comes up fast bat at about 20 kmh if the front end starts going down neer imposible to get back up
