Anyone used them? Any good
Would love ones that are comfortable as summer gloves but obviosly heated. So what do you recommend?
Thanks.

I'm also considering them, I've been through three sets of heated grips over the last few years, one Oxford and two Dr Bike. The controller went tits up on the Oxford ones and the throttle grip has stopped working on the Dr Bike ones. I ride all year round and I consider some form of hand heating to be crucial.
If I get a new job soon with a longer commute then I will be investing in some heated gloves, as they keep the back of the hands warm too, not just the palms. I'd also be interested in knowing if they are any good, as they are not cheap. I doubt you'll find a pair that will double as summer gloves though, they will be aimed at winter use.
Cheers

Have them, use them in the very cold and for cold long runs, Brilliant.
Dont use them all the time because in the winter - more gear to put on- faff plugging them in to the bike then into the jacket is just one more thing. Plus for round town my winter gloves are fine.
But for longer - colder runs they are brilliant, no cold hands, in fact very comfortable temperature.
I use these https://www.giali.com/mod/product/id_prd/190
and have sewn the wires into my old (but waterproof and windproof) textile jacket so they just plug in at back and into gloves. ____________________ Shiney!

I've been looking at the EX02 ones:
Stormshield
They're a bit pricier, but they look like a good glove and I can run the wiring between my jacket liner and outer.
Cheers

We have a pair of Klan inner gloves. (For winter mornings in the car )
They work OK but the problem on a bike would be managing the two cables that plug into the connectors on the back of the gloves.
I have heated grips but still find my handy-pops get cold on long runs through the bleak mid-winter. True as said by Mr. Klan you will need a size up on your outer glove.
Wear long sleeve thermals to keep your heat in your arms too. ____________________ W-ireless A-rtificial L-ifeform L-imited to O-bservation P-eacekeeping and E-fficient R-epair |

I never tried it in the end, but for controlling temp I would be tempted to use a 555 timer unit, as I may have mentioned elsewhere. Maplins do a kit for £7 or so which is a 555 timer with a relay and two variable pots to control pulse duration and timing between pulses.
So you could set it to have power for five seconds on, five off for 50% heat, or five on fifteen off for 25% say. Reckon that should reasonably keep temp down.
27cows, when you get a bigger bike you might understand wind chill .
Combination of heated grips and bar muffs seems to work fairly well. |

I don't like your chances of being able to operate this kit with gloves on though 555 pulse kit.
The circuit diagram is useful though, as you could use that and make a more bike friendly one from the parts.
Circuit Diagram
If people are interested in this, once I get my gloves, I could make a few of them for a few quid plus parts.
Cheers

I initially got one to make an electric chain oiler, which I haven't finished yet, but thought it would work ok for heated stuff too.
But, yes, 'DIY' would probably make sense. I went for the kit 'cos I'm not that great with electronics. |
I think it depends on which gloves you get. If you can set them to a set temp, according to the ambient temp for that day, and be happy then the kit is ideal. If you want to be able to adjust them on the move then something chunkier would be better.
I'll wire up a kit when I get my gloves and go from there. Results will be posted on here.
Cheers
