So I went to get some gas for my gas gun and it was pissing it down, it had been for about an hour straight and it was freezing even though I had more layers than a cake
I get to a slip road going to a roundabout and some guy is there on a brand new ped with a brand new helmet, but on further inspection he was wearing trackies, some little shoes with what looked like no socks, a jacket and no gloves I could see him shaking like a shitting dog so after a few seconds of considering, I rolled to the side of him and said "are you cold?" he said "Yeah a bit" and laughed, so I took off my gloves and said "do you want my gloves?" he's like "no thanks it's alright mate" and I was like "Oi it's my birthday tomorrow I'm getting some new ones you can have them" and he just shook his head
I've seen some 'I helped such and such' topics so I thought I'd make my own for my first friendly deed
By the way it is actually my birthday tomorrow
And for the record my gloves aren't exactly amazing, they do the job but aren't anything expensive and the right one has a few small tears from my last wrap up
Seeing as most of you will just post your epic flam, we can counter this by you lot posting some of the nicest things you've done for other motorcyclists ____________________ Doug97 wrote: Fuck you, what they did was awesome. Maybe he wasn't planning on riding around, maybe his little sister had just been sent to hospital and he just jumped on his ped to get there
If the most devastating emergency arose would you sit and strap yourself up for a safe and dry 5 minute journey to the hospital or wherever you had to go?
I'm so good at being nice ____________________ Doug97 wrote: Fuck you, what they did was awesome. You just wish you had the balls to be like them, instead of being constantly afraid that there's a rule somewhere out there you might be breaking. |

It was in traffic, I ended up behind him and we were moving about 5 inches every 10 minutes so it wasn't really pulling over
And don't you have to have a ped to be a ped boi? I'm not down with this intercycle lingo ____________________ Doug97 wrote: Fuck you, what they did was awesome. So wearing some waterproofs when it's raining means I have no balls?

I certainly wouldn't of helped him. I'd be riding past the traffic. ____________________ Current: ZZR1400

It's the done thing for a proper bikers to pull over and help fellow two wheeled travellers who have broken down or had a spill. Not sure I'd go about giving away my kit to people, though
Of course, most of the plastic reptile brigade are, with a handful of exceptions, never going to give a toss about anyone but themselves and will zap past people struggling after a breakdown.
I carry quite a large amount of tools in my top box. Owning plenty of old relics and not being one to call the RAC, it's a good idea to have some basic stuff on board. I will always stop if I see someone who has obviously broken down.
Good one back in the summer. Coming back from Hastings, saw some young guy standing looking bewildered with an elderly Yam RS125 in the layby at Brookland. Turns out he'd put a new chain on the bike himself and put the split link clip back to front...and the thing had come off and dropped the chain in the middle of the road. He was 20 miles from home, mobile had a flat battery, no breakdown cover. I couldn't give him a lift because I have a top box on the pillion seat. But I always carry a spare split link and the RS has the same pitch chain as the RXS, a 428. His face was a picture as I produced a link from the box Thankfully he'd invested in a set of allens for engine, otherwise getting the screws of the flywheel/chain cover undone might have posed a bit of a problem (I draw the line at carrying a club hammer and impact driver). Ten minutes later and he was away. He looked like someone who had lost a fiver and found a grand LOL
It's nice to help people. I've had some good folks stop for me too in the past. Once got a puncture miles from home and had a Harley rider stop and give me a lift to the village where he lived, where he asked around until someone found a suitable tube in their garage. He refused all offers of money for petrol and such. Not all Harley riders are tits |

'Tacky' Bottoms, Trainers, and no gloves.....
Two things spring to my mind whenever I see this sort of thing.
Is the vehicle stolen?
Is the rider F*ckin' retarded?
Good on you for being a Samaritan.
Would I have stopped?
I'm normally going much too fast to stop by the time my initial thoughts have been pondered.

But whats up with the anti-ped attitude everyone? Sure, the vast majority are chavs that have stolen them and act like twats. BUT im sure many people had peds in the past and wherent. Im considering getting one just to get some experience before my cbt. But probably wont |
