Anyone with an iPhone 3GS HELP???

Hey guys, my GF just bought a iPhone 3GS thingy and we got it home, synced it with iTunes, registered it etc and it wont make calls or texts? Is there normally a delay before you can actually use the bastid thing?

She's geting annoyed

is it a new sim? when i got my iphone it had a new sim in it, it had to wait till my old one deactivated for it to start working, took about a day or two.

it needs to be activated, leave it turned on with the sim in and it will text the o2 servers and activate itself, you'll then get a confirmation message.

Cheers man, yeah it is a new sim. Can you recommend any good iPhone shops/forums etc? She was given a 16GB by mistke and only paying for a 8GB contract

It will be Orange as O2 sort the registration out in the shop before you leave.

Orange have been VERY slow at setting it up as well. It can take 72 hours.

FFS man that's a long time, you get something like this and you just wanna use it Might play hell with customer support see if we can get it sorted sooner.

I'm pretty sure they come in 8GB aswell? might be wrong. It started working this morning and she's happy, cheers for the replies
