My hair. lol

My hairdresser told me if i didnt wash my hair everyday then i wouldnt become greasy looking. I told her that recently it seems to look horrible if i leave it more than a day of washing. It look absolutly fine when washed but if i leave it one evening then it looks bad. My hair is fairly long, not down to my shoulders but long.
How can i not wash it everyday to help it regain its natural oils if it looks bad after one? LOL

my hair isn't long, i wash it every other day....rinse it every day. If i shampoo every day my hair goes dry and useless. Leave some of the grease in it!!

Dont use conditioner and use a shampoo for greasy hair. Thumbs Up

but some people have oily heads anyway so you are going to get greasey bap regardless it just wont be helped if you are using conditioner. And wash your hair every other day then, nothing worse than a guy with long dirty greasy hair Sick

Whilst the princess thing was friking funny there is some truth in the brushing thing. Brushing takes the perfectly good and healty natural oils to the full lenght of the hair, its rubs it in like polishing, massages the scalp and is very relaxing. Use Sahmpoo every other day but rinse your hair in warm water the other day. Don't towel it roughly dry and dont use a hair dryer. Long hair requires a commitment to look good. If you want easy hair then dont have long hair.

I have short hair kept short by one of those "razor in a comb" things because of my helmet and the fact my hair grows "out" not down.

In my defence, how can you not talk to your hairdresser? I just answer questions usually, i dont sit there in silence like a mong.
The chemo look wouldn't work for me, im pale enough as it is. With short back and sides i look about 18. I like longer hair because i dont do anything but wash it, it just hangs down and i cut it about 1 a month, if that......i spend less time mucking with my hair then a skin head.
I dont understand hair, im not bothered, i just dont like the fact my hair suddenly wants to look greasy after 24 hours.

I used to have the same problem.

Switch to a milder shampoo, like Johnson's baby. Then when your hair gets used to that, you can wash it every other day with normal stuff. Don't ever use shampoo for greasy hair!

I wash my hair every day (sometimes i miss days but I havn't showered then either:)), I towel dry it violently and have done for the last 2 years.
It is down to my eyes at the front and a bit longer in some areas.
It often looks like I have straightened it and it usually soft too. If I don't wash for 2 days it only goes slightly greasy.

Do I win?

Although I used to have very greasy skin so I am not some magic non grease person.

edit: the point of that story was to mention that violently drying hair and washing every day doesn't necessarily mean greasy hair.
No one has suggested a process by which hair is self cleaning.
