94plate good condition for its age 17k, sounds immense with the dep exhaust. Came with a spare engine loads of speedos etc and 4 cylinders with heads lol £500 i think iv had a right bargain
i was thinking of looking into this greenlaning, as im up cumbria i thought maybe kielder forest would be a good start?

I had one as my first bike but without the ATAC and it was dog slow, took forever to get to 70mph and would only manage 75 flat out Embarassed

Not sure what model exactly as it was a good while ago. I don't think I got much more than an indicated 75mph out of it if i remember. Had no issues with it at all though - great wee bike for the time I had it.

hi,
i have the early mtx, without the atac & it does 70 no problems.
(& thats with standard pipe)
currently using it for commuting the 30 odd miles to work.
acceleration is good, tyres are good in the rain, fuel consumtion isnt that bad for a 2t, & it has enough power to overtake on the dual carriage ways.
i must add, that trailie style bikes are not usually my sort of thing, (dont like the seating position & my days of off-roading are well over!) but having owned dt's,ts's & some others when i was younger, i thought i'd see if they were as much fun as i remember.
they are.
mines is nearly 25 years old,has drum brakes front AND back, leaks gear oil, (needs a 3 quid seal), has no indicators or mirrors!
& i cant remember when i had so much fun on a small 2 stroke, lol
i also have the mtx 200 engine, which slots staight in.
this has the atac fitted as standard. (iirc, only the non uk 125's had atac fitted)
certainly prefer the 200, dunno if thats because of the atac but overall, top speed isnt that much higher,(good for around 90) it just has plenty more power low down, as compared to the 125.
tempted to drill out the clutch cover/cylinder & fit atac to the 125, just to see what difference it makes.
i have a spare atac assembly & would just need the little bearing that the thing spins in.
cheers,
GAZ

Been there a few times but as far as i'm aware it's not legal! so dont get caught.(i usually just remove number plate)
Also theres usually horse riders in there so you have to take it very easy.

The Honda Mtx...The are a good learner bike. Thats all though. Not going to set the world on fire. Bit slow aswell for a two stroke. A De-Restricted Yamaha DT goes better. Or somthing like a Husqvarna WRE 125..

Hi Griff,
This is a common problem on MTX's, cylinder head covers are pretty rare (and even rarer in serviceable condition) - I put one on flea bay which had some hairline cracks in it and it still sold for £30+.

How badly and where is it cracked? As they can be rewelded.

Cheers.
