I got tired of my old moped, gottired of being overtaken by some chavs in they pimped up nissan micras, so iv descided to get myself a 125 . got quiet a bit of choice, aprilia, mito, sachs etc. the 2 bikes that grabed my attention were Honda NSR 125rr and Suzuki RG 125 Wolf/Gamma. After weeks of research i have fund a butifull RG 125 ( havent figured out if its wolf or gamme lol) gonna go view it in the nxt week, in thinking that theres not many of them arround coz i sure havent seen ny, and theres hardly any 4 sale. The parts are a right bugger to get but thats why im here. If any one know some websites, dealers, friends etc. that sell parts can you please give me some info on them and if any one owned an RG 125 in the past can u plz give me some feedback on that beauty much apreciated.

well thanks for the interest and the replyes first of all wolf's look like street fighters and that hits all the right buttons but the gamma looks like a buty sports bike which is just sex. Whe can i get the parts from, do suzuki dealers still order them on demand? Because im sure i will need to tweek 1 thing or another, and for that i will probably need a workshop manual because i never took a bike appart in my life |

There was a wolf opersite my ex flatmates new place, really nice looking bike, it was red and turqoise (it looked good honest!)

Like that but I think it had turqoise wheels. ____________________ Well, you know what they say. If you want to save the world, you have to push a few old ladies down the stairs.

I owned one of each back in the day and the RG125F is ten times better than the old Gamma. There is a power valve on the F that is activated by taking a single wire out of the CDI and insulating it, the de-restricts the bike and makes them very quick for a 125. Unfortunately mine was too quick and ended up embedded in the back of a Skoda
If you can find a decent one, go for the F, not the Gamma.
Cheers

Hi,
having owned a couple i agree.
the 92 onwards is bit faster & more "modern" looking.
but the mk1 is lighter, easier & cheaper to work on.
theres a lot more to go wrong with the later ones (the pv for example)
they are completely different bikes, so even though they share the same name, shouldnt really be compared.
back in the day, the gamma was well respected, probably because the competition didnt quite match up. (except for a couple of notable exceptions).
by the time the later rg was out, it was lost in amongst the others. (the aprilia af1,cagiva's mito, honda's nsr etc were all simarly equippped & would in most cases out perform the suzuki)
dont see many mint ones any more, which is a shame.(i actually like the garish original colour schemes),
i'd love to have another one, completely restored, but there quite expensive to work on & getting decent original panels can be a pain.
anyway, back to the original post....
if its a mk1 gamma, theres not much goes wrong but being so old, make sure its fully restored.(exhausts can be quite hard to get a hold of - i have a nice shiney micron fitted to baby gamma )
if its the later version, have a good look at it.
theres plenty of them out there & most are trashed, so any obvious problems walk away, unless its cheap,
cheers,

Parts are easy to get hold of try any of these.

I'm currently on my 4th RG the first I bought brand new back in 1994. Like any vehicle as long as you keep up with the maintenance the engine is pretty much bomb proof. If you're going for the later FUN/P/R or wolf model they are very easy to derestrict although you need to be a welder or know someone who can weld.
Here's mine.

Rather than the ballache of de-restriction (disconnecting wire, removing metal part from exhaust) just find a european bike, German bikes are full power from factory (33bhp) and do a ton no probs which is more than fast enough for a bike that weighs as much as a wasp.
Might have to turn mine into a wolf as it doesn't like the wind at all and gets blown all over the shop.
