I've got a KX125, not sure how similar they are.

The hole in the side of the can is where the end plug bit is usually rivetted. AFAIK.

Look out on eBay for a new top end if you don't wanna get a replated barrel.

Make sure you do a post over in the show and tell section Wink

Personally I'd go for a standard-ish rebuild with anything like tuning later when she's up and running ok. Other stuff I'd do is junk any road gear thats not needed like passenger pegs / rack / mirrors etc to help lighten up the old girl a bit Cool

That can't be too hard to diagnose.

Start at the kill switch.

Then start at the plug cap, make sure it's pressed on ok. Check the HT lead is into the plug cap ok, then check the HT lead is into the coil ok.

Then check the connections to the coil, and make sure the body of it is earthed ok.

If it's none of those you'll have to start looking at the pickup on the engine.

Zedxfarin if you are interested i am willing to sell my project KMX 200 off road, its complete with freshly painted frame (black) with everything.

god loads of spares too (including air box, frame, yokes, swing arm, rear shock throttle assy + more

All it needs to get it running is a weld on the engine case (i have good pictures)

if your interested let me know - only reason i am selling is because i want a gasgas or Beta.

Here is a pic of it partly built but got everything ready to bolt on.

Thanks

Bit of an update on the old KMX. Well its running again. All it needs now is cosmetic work and its up for sale. Pictures soon.

What i would have dun difrent:

Wish i had time to fit the new electrics i got.

DEFO wish i got a new barrel and not forked out for the nikal plate.

Wish i could have fitted a battery, Ran out of buget.

Apart from that it was a gr8 project. Im now working on a 1995 Yammah YZ250. Keep a lookout for the upcoming post from ZEDXFARIN

Thanks for viewing.....

KMX rocks! yeah, you can have it resleeved. I had mine resleeved at a machine shop and used a yamaha DT piston in it. I had to put in thicker gaskets because the piston for yamaha DT is longer, the piston will hit the top end with the thinner gasket.
