Absolute rubbish and any decent legal brief will have it laughed out of court.

That is the most retarded thing ever.

Caught at 85mph but done for a speed which he wasn't doing. Appalling.

Not my fault if the person behind was caught in traffic and broke the speed limit, I was going to pull over and wait until it was safe to do so.

Done.

If I am speeding on the motorway, its because I am trying to catch up with XX car.

They should be done for my 150 mph even though they are 5 miles ahead.

Oh wait sorry, car drivers are LESS?!?! dangerous than bikers.

Throughout my training I was told to ride my own ride and that on the test it was the examiner's responsiblity to keep with me. Sounds like they will now need to change the test again to abide by this new precedent, or you could get done/failed for making the examiner speed to catch you up!

Idea

How about a BCF ride out near where 27cows lives on a sunny weekend when he's likely to go out on his bike. Follow him but at a bit of a distance, when there's police nearby go as fast as possible, you'll get done for speeding but so will 27cows because you'd tell the cops that you were in a group being led by 27cows and you were only going as fast as you were because you were trying to catch up 27cows. Very Happy

If several riders get done for speeding whilst in a group being lead by 27cows hopefully he'd get done for each separate riders offense. But if not, it would be necessary to follow him on different occasions to get him done for leading a group of speeding bikes.

4 people each willing to take 3 points on their license and then 27cows would have 12 points, lose his license, which would mean he's have to shut up about how because he's got a clean license means he's a good rider.

That won't work, as I'm likely to be on a bike that can't do much more than 70 Wink And even the gormless old bill would realise that I would be completely unconnected with the coloured leathers-wearing plastic poser boys Laughing

I mentioned once in passing that I have a clean license. Which is hardly endless boasting. These days it's more luck than judgment, as you can get points for virtually anything. Fortunately I'm usually riding the kind of bike that cops don't even notice.

Again, who bothers to read a newspaper about motorbiking?

MCN is the biking equivalent of the Daily Express.

It is the old saying when riding in a group that the person at the back should set the pace for the front guy, but so often the front guy does his own thing and creates a peer pressure for the others to catch up, be it real or imagined.

When out with my two mates I always ride tail end Charlie as I'm the quickest, if I want to stretch my legs I either drop back and then catch up or go in front have a little blast and then stop let the others pass and then take my place again. The other lads who ride with me know this and ride there own ride. They know that if they do up the pace I will be behind them and catch up as and when I'm ready to.

so would that work for car drivers then lets say mates going out for a cruise, i am in a vw club and always go to shows in convoy and some people at the back would have to put foot down to catch up so the first car leader is resonsable for the ones at the back??

how the hell does that hold up in court?? makes no sense in my eyes.. even with bikes ???

the other biker have free will if they have to and want to speed its there choice...not the lead man..

It sets an interesting precedent, but I'm sure a good solicitor would tear it apart.

What's more interesting is the private life of the officer who pulled him, PC James Appi. Laughing
