I'd imagine he's simply selected the wrong option on the dropdown list when he's listed the bike. Either that or he's listed it using the reg number, and some numpty at the DVLA had entered the transmission as 7 speed manual.
Some Cagiva Mitos have seven gears BTW. ____________________ Current: ZZR1400

At that price with those miles, I'd hope it had something pretty special .
Cagiva Mito is the only bike of recent time with seven gears that I know and not all models at that. |

That's why I said 'that I know' ... from a quick google it seems the mana does kinda have seven gears, but only kinda because it has seven selectable out of an infinite number (CVT) actually .
I wonder if you could hack it to play about with the way the gears work . |

My old Cagiva Freccia had 7 speed, no point in it though because the bike wouldnt get all the way to the rev ceiling of 6th gear to make any use of an upshift. Mabey the sprockets had been changed or the motor was just weak after countless rebores and carb problems.
That 750 W dont have seven speed, he would have mentioned the extensive amount of gearbox fabrication that would have happened in the description of the bike below.
Lovely example of an awesome bike by the way. ____________________ Cagiva Freccia, ZXR 250A & C, KX 250, GSXR 750 K2 & SRAD, ZX6R B1h rag the masshh! |

just buy another two sprockets and make a little de-railer system like on a push bike |
Oddly enough, having got some spare front sprockets, I had wondered about something like that.
I would like a really wide-ratio gear box (it's actually quite close ratio as it's from a road bike). Wondered about trying to make some 'quick change' system for the front sprocket, so that you could have the high ratio for the road, then swap to a lower one when you hit the dirt.
However, really I'd prefer it just to have a decently wide ratio gearbox so you can hop off the motorway and hit a gnarly trail without stopping . |
This has been done but only by welding a different front and rear sprocket to the originals and the change required a rear spindle loosen and chain move. The front and rear sprocket alignment is very important, you couldn't just have a different rear.
Cheers

I was actually trying to work out some way of the front sprocket 'moving' so the desired sprocket would be inline - there's no room to have two different chain runs really. |

Hi
A Freccia gasket set comes with loads of base gaskets so you can get the compression right when doing a rebuild.
Ours was the ex road test bike and went like the clappers. Would pull 7th gear and would indicate 105mph in top. Power band was from 9500 to 11000 (red line at 10k), with nothing outside that range.
When we blew the engine up we found all the porting marks on the barrel. With a new barrel it was nowhere near as fast .
All the best
