Killed the crank on my Am6 engined Husky in the first 15mins of riding it Sad. Anyone got a standard cylinder/head/crank? Here's the pics:

Yeah, crank death.

I bought this for £100 in the end:

I can't comment on the quality of the rings as I didn't put them in the bike. I knew the bike needed a rebuild when I bought it and the price reflected this and I was riding it home when it went. I didn't want to ride it back but my mate let me down with a lift in his van at the last minute. I was being gingerly as possible but it let go, as you can tell from the blow by on the rings, it was well worn and way overdue a rebuild.

It was just the inconvenience of it going when out on the road and having to wait for the recovery service that was a bit annoying.

But fuck yourself for your negative comment.

I took a risk which didn't pay off but nevertheless it still needs the same amount of money as it did pre-kaboom so I've lost nothing more except a hour or so waiting for the recovery man.

You could argue that I could've saved the cylinder head but its specific to the Malossi 80cc BBK barrel which was more oval than cylindrical so would've needed a replate anyway (nicasil lined). Obviously not worth the cost of a replate (£100-150) so the cylinder head wasn't worth a lot anyway.

It's a zero sum loss apart from a little time wasted.

So again, fuck yourself for bringing negativity to the subject.

I wouldn't say most other people would either laugh or suggest that it's the OP's fault that the engine blew up, you've been made to look like an arse and are trying to back track.

Bad luck on blowing it up Jack, the replacement looks good Thumbs Up how long do you reckon it will be before you get it sorted?

As said, the barrel was oval due to wear. It needed a replate to make it cylindrical again as its nicasil. I guess you don't have an issue with selling people fucked parts but I couldn't sell someone an oval bore as being in good order and ready to use.

TO CLARIFY, the barrel would've been oval regardless of the seizure and as such would've need replating even if the seizure didn't occur.

I'm at the loss of the head, but as said as the head is specific to that particular 80cc bbk and as such it wouldn't be worth a great deal. Maximum £10-15 if I'm lucky perhaps?

It's only 1/2 day's work to get the motor in and running (need to swap the stator and a few little bits over). Its just a matter of finding time, I'm so busy with Uni coursework atm but once that's all handed it (17th Dec) then it'll be on the road again.

Will update if with pics if anyone is interested?
