Hey all,
I'm relatively new to biking, I've got a CBT and I ride a chinese 125cc bike (for my sins).

I'd like to upgrade to a small cruiser style bike eventually, like a Honda Rebel. Very Happy

I guess I'm restricted to low seated bikes because of my height (5ft 1") so if anyone has any suggestions let me know Smile

Oh, and before you start slagging chinese bikes... mine cost me £750 second hand and with routine maintenance has never missed a beat... so there Razz

Welcome!

Don't forget you can get lowered seats, plus Ladystar boots, to aid in getting your feet down.

Hello Noo, nice to see you on here.

I concur on the 'small cruisers' idea. I've had two 250 cruisers now - my last Eliminator and currently the GN - and the seats are nice and low.

I do struggle getting on anything high, I'm not short but I have stocky legs.

Hi there and welcome to the forums! Thumbs Up

Your Chinese bike was still a bad purchase. For reference, my first bike cost me £500 absolutely new (even to the point where I had to assemble half of it myself). If you're after a cruiser then the older Honda Rebel (as you said) is a good starting point, or if you can afford a little bit more than the Honda VT Shadow 125 is probably what you are after.

I feel it my responsibility to recommend a Honda CG though Razz if only because you can definitely get a second hand one for £700 and they really do never miss a beat. If you get a VT though I will definitely be jealous.

Once more welcome, feel free to disregard all blatantly sexist remarks and you'll fit right in.

ms51ves3: why does it need 500 miles? Are you teaching it how to be a piston?

I have to agree, I had a Chinese 125 (a Yamasaki) - fine for pottering about on, I wouldn't say I thrashed mine (much!) but, it did literally fall to pieces Sad
On the plus side, it did get me through my test and to where I am now Thumbs Up

Hello and welcome Smile

Welcome Very Happy

Funny things, Chinese bikes. Some are utter crap, some are decent. My brother has had three, including a Sanya 125 which was well built and extremely reliable (never missed a beat in over 20K miles, before the inevitable coming together with a cage wrote it off).

A Huoniao HN125-8. Basically a copy of a CM125 but with a single rather than a twin.

With a term like that I now seriously doubt you're female. At least not one I'd want to know. Jesus. Shocked

Not exactly. Just not to refer to a part of their own anatomy as something disgusting. It lacks a certain class.

Have you ever called someone a dick, a dickhead, a cock, etc?
Funny how the same standards don't apply, isn't it?

I agree, but males are scum, nice girls go on a pedestal. And don't deny that's advantageous.

It's not though, is it? unless you're one of those airheads that laps up all the male attention. Which I'm not, I have a brain Smile
