Hi

Any half decent dealer would restrict a bike bought elsewhere for you. If you use the FI kit then you might well get a far better deal if you bought the bike from the dealer and they restricted it, but there is no legal requirement for any particular kit or certificate, hence the FI kits work out very expensive under the excuse of the certificate and TUV certification costs (neither of which are relevant in the UK).

Legally you cannot ride the full power (>25kW) bike on the road until it is restricted.

All the best

Keith

I have the dimensions for the hornet washers, and a set of restrictors I found the other day for a 95-99 bandit, their free to you for the price of postage.

I had a garage then! now I just have bike bits littered around my flat. It doesn't help that my flatmate is a bike mechanic, and has half an engine on the floor which he's working on as well as numerous carbs and stuff everywhere. I need to get rid of some.

Anyway 25 quid compared to 180 from FI Very Happy

Hi there, thanks for the info guys and thanks for the kind offer of the restrictors but i'd better not take them as im not sure what im going to go for yet and if i went for a Bandit i like the look of the newer 650 ones. As it usually goes it will probably be whatever falls in to my hands at the time, Rich
