Got to be good stuff given that you've just had a load of rubbish stuff!! Mr. Green

I reckon a very small amount of reflection will be required, but not too soon as you need to lighten up a tad and have a bit of distance so as not to plummet into despair, so get out and have some fun doing things you enjoy and that take all your concentration.

Once you're laughing again, reflect on the reasons for the 'losses' - if they were your fault and it's the way you are cool, as next time it happens it won't be a surprise! If they were your fault and you want to change then get positive. If they weren't your fault, so what as there was nothing you could have done about it and you'll be stronger for the next time something rubbish happens.

Life's very short, don't dwell on rubbish stuff because while you're busy doing that rest assured you're missing out on good stuff and we all much prefer good stuff!! Mr. Green

Sorry to hear that. I guess the rest kind of follow, once any of us lose our jobs. As much as it is hard being financially dependent on having a job, I've seen myself and most everyone I know, coast in and out of the brink of this situation during the recession over the past year or two.

Answering your question...what's next....? It could be your motorcycle if you still have one after losing your job; or your car if you have one. Or, if you're riding with the weight of the world on your mind, then it could be your physical health....or your emotional health....or your well-being in general. Or your family. Or your friends. Or life itself.

Well, it sounds like you've not lost everything then. If you can lose a boyfriend in 60 minutes, then maybe it wasn't a friendship worthwhile keeping. Well, if you can lose a friendship when you're going through a rough patch, it definitely isn't a friendship worthwhile keeping. Don't trials show us, who we can really trust?

Guess you need some help, and you might be better going to professional services to get those, whether that be careers advice/housing agency/counselling/GP or other. If you're into alcohol and other fun drugs, it might be time to pack those in too, just so that you can keep a clear head to steer yourself out of this.

As Winston Churchill said during the second world war: "We're going through hell. Keep going."

Best of luck.

Kinda know how you feel, i lost everything i cared about in a matter of months, then nearly lost my job afterwards.

I think you need to remember sadly that you can't always have your way, things don't work out but as humans we adapt and reinvent to reach our goals.

You ex is now your ex so move on, broken relationships are like glass bottles, sure you could pain stakenly glue it back together but the cracks will always show. Find someone new when you've had a little "me" time.

Job? well i guess in the current time frame and conditions you could get a part time xmas job to get some easy money if theres still some, but then try and find a long termer afterwards. Use this time to reflect and find your footing again. Trust me, you have to or you'll fall apart like i did.

Oooof, thats quite a handful to cope with, isn't it, kiddo.

I'm pleased (and surprised) at xlonewolfx's depth of maturity on this matter.

I mostly agree with what he has to say.
*hugs*

And other people's contributions are interesting, too.
Although ... Numptie - mostly sensible.
But I don't think he meant that the relationship had lasted 60 minutes Rolling Eyes just that it had died an hour before he got round to discussing it with us.

Bless.
Anyway, P.I. ... you're a nice boy.

What do you mean Hellkat? He needs advice and i've been in his posistion and tbh a yr and half later i still am, but i took time to find who i really am, and i dont need in a way anyone am alot stronger, but at the same time i yourn for someone to help me, no one will. I'm all alone and i face the facts. Its a hard knock life then you pass away, should we dwell on the past? No, because all it will bring is pain and hate.

Move on, you need to and you will be at peace with yourself for it, if you feel you cant hold out and you need to talk to someone who's been there then add me on msn or pm me and i'll be a listening ear.

Because you had one seizure? Last time I heard was that you had an off which you attributed to a seizure, and a girl friend of yours said you were fitting in your sleep.......has there been anything to confirm it? You had all the tests etc?

Confirmed as a seizure by a consultant neurologist through cranial nerve tests, awaiting MRI at the moment..

Life is like that unfortunately, I went through hell a couple of years back when I found out that the now ex had been sleeping with my mate, she was also pregnant (with what turned out to be my baby but I didn't know that) and my son was about a year old at the time. I literally ended up sat outside a mates house in the car one morning, crying and wondering what the hell to do next. I'd lost my daily contact with my son, my marriage and didn't feel like I had anywhere to turn.

Ironically the bloke my ex ran off with had finished with his girlfriend to be with my ex and she and I were already acquaintances through my mate. We became friends through being in the same situation and next August she and I are getting married, I have my son and daughter every other weekend and life is pretty good.

Sometimes you have to get to rock bottom before you can start climbing up again, just don't start feeling too sorry for yourself or the self-pity can become habit. Try to look positive and remember, you've got a lot of life ahead of you and 99% of it has to be better than you feel right now!

Cheers

Grim

Gutted mate, any thoughts as to what to persue next? I wouldn't have a feckin clue what I'd do as a profession if I was told that for some medical reason I couldn't do it, it's the only thing I'm half decent at.

I had to give up loads of things after finding out my injuries were permanent. Okay, it has not affected my career, per se, but has put paid to a lot of other things.

The best advice I can give you, is give yourself breathing space. Allow yourself to wallow for a bit, but then try and consider the things you can do, and the things you think you'd like to do, and see if you can find something else to aim for.

I know it won't seem like it now, but something will come. You are bright and intelligent, and at the start of your working life...something good will come. Best keep as positive as you can. Thumbs Up
