plumbing question. Chrome pipe and speedfit plastic pipe

quick question. Why cant you use speedfit plastic fittings on chrome pipe?

Also is there a way to use chrome with these fittings with out attaching standard copper pipe. thinking along the lines of stripping the chrome off

Its because the speedfit fittings have a gripper ring in them which holds the fitting in place, the chrome is smooth so the theres a risk the fitting can just pop off.
You could rough up the end of the chrome pipe so that the fitting grips or just buy a compression fitting, you can get chrome ones so they look much better as well.

they do speedfit which go from copper to plastic, not sure what your profession is you might be a plumber and know alot more than me lol, but maybe to into somewhere like plumb center and see if they can help or point your in the right direction to get a part made up.
