Taken off my exhast for the third time, to grind/wire brush off the rust and respray with harlfords 500 c silver exhaust paint.
This job takes the best side of 3 days, and never works properly because you cant get the brush between where the pipes go into 1. and i'm fed up of doing it, father suggested i just get them galvanized? But i recon they will look shit? Has anyone any suggestions within a budget of £50.
Thanks.

Right, I would try several applications of Kurust, if the rust is just on the surface this will strip it back to metal. If you keep at it, all the rust will be gone. Now obviously because the exhaust gets hot, not entirely sure what paint you could get on it. In an ideal world it would be zinc rich primer, stone chip paint and then heat proof paint. Can you not get that hammerite high heat in aerosol cans, or get it put into some at a motor factors? |
