Why ask someone else on here if you can leave your bike for a couple of weeks and it'd be ok? You know your bike better than anyone so you should be able to decide for yourself whether it'd be okay.

What kind of fuel tap have you got? Vacuum ones normally have an 'always on' setting which you should leave on for about a minute if the bike hasn't been started in a while.

You can quite happily leave a bike for months and start it without any problems.

it's a big twin isn't it? mine hates trying to start with even a half flat battery so that is what i'd suspect.

You certainly SHOULD be able to leave pretty much any bike out for two weeks without problem.
Possible your battery was already on the way out (batteries always go this time of year with the cold weather) or an alarm was excessively draining the battery, etc.
