How about a sticky thread called "New users say hello here <month and year>" in general chat so that there aren't a load of new people we have to say hello to ebery week!

Naah, what I mean is that your average 'hello' thread isn't really that interesting. If people take the time to write a bit about themselves then that's cool, but if it's just 'hello' from a bunch of people that may not even stick around, it's not that great.

I think it's quite a good idea, although like Bendy says, a new post in general chat from a newbie introducing themselves properly is quite nice.

I don't mind saying hello!
