Just a quick rant about the apparently crap quality of the iPhone USB transfer cable that came with my iPhone when I bought it 12 months ago. Firstly about 6 months ago the USB mains adapter just stopped working altogether so I had to buy another one (only £5 thankfully) and now the cable is starting to fall apart! I treat all of my cables really well so I'm just not sure how it's happened other than poor manufacturing standarards. Piccy:

Think I can just use some insulation tape?

ms51ves3: why does it need 500 miles? Are you teaching it how to be a piston?

I've had the same on 3 official Apple Iphone 3G USB cables, my current one is made of 2 cables (where the opposite end had broken on each) with the wires wrapped together and insulation taped in the middle Laughing

You're insane! Laughing but I like it. Unfortunately I think I only have some black insulation tape, and that's if I can even find it right now Sad going to be ugly!

My iphone headphones have done the same, at the base of the cable... one earphone works perfectly but the other doesnt.. wobble it about a bit and it'll start working...

Really annoying as they are good headphones and have a remote built in which is really handy! I've only used them a handful of times too so a bit dissapointing they've broken already Sad

Oh I don't use my iPhone as a phone.... just as an iPhone if you get what I mean Razz I love my sony erricson, I've had them for years as actual phones. Sadly I can no longer say that they are quality products though. The directional pad on mine is broken and after some research it seems that many other people have confirmed that the "joystick" on them is crap and always breaks Sad

Also, I hate my iPhone headphones. The audio quality isn't bad but the shape is awful!

You want a nice set of These.

Like what I got free with my Samsung Omnia mobile phone. Which hasn't broken Mr. Green

Cheers

You are completely correct, but unfortunately I don't have £99 to spend on headphones Sad

Firstly the ipod touch has only been around 2 and a half years Confused
Secondly they are they same on the iPhone except there's a button and microphone attachment on the cable and it depends because apple update their headphones every few years.

I know the touch hasnt been around for five years, I meant that I am using a 5 year old cable with it. Didnt come across too well I guess. Perhaps the iphone ones with extra bits are a little more flimsy than the regular cables? I have a couple of spares somewhere if you ever need a new one. Beats forking out a fiver for something.
