What book's could you not put down?

Just reading Anthony Kiedis's Biography - Scar tissue. Read half of the book last night as it was so amazing what this guy's life has been like. Unbelievable how many drugs the human body is able to take. So far i'd say it's worth a read.

My faveroite book by far though is a Wilbur Smith book called The Quest. Brilliant!!!

Angels & Demons by Dan Brown (DaVinci Code very over-rated),
the Dave Peltzer trilogy -A Child Called It-The Lost Boy-A Man Called Dave,
most of Jeremy Clarkson' books,
Roald Dahl childrens books (I read 'em to my kids a chapter a night but always ended up reading ahead),
Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol,
Edgar Allen Poe's Tell Tale Heart-Cask of Amontillado (short stories)
Richard Hammond On The Edga
Ian Flemings Bond books
I also indulge in alot of history, crime and paranormal books/novels

I haven't got a favourite as I read what my mood dictates.

Slashs' autobiography was pretty good too, as was DMXs'.

I'll confess to being quite drawn in by Dan Browns books as well.

Any of Richard Laymon or Dean Koontz's books, I started collecting them again a few years back and up untill being made redundant earlier this year I used to buy two or three a month...

I've also got a fair few Autobiographies, Scar Tissue I have yet to finish though as I found it boring, Slash and Axls are a lot more interesting, and Dave Courtneys books make me laugh of loud, much the annoyance of the Missus...

I've got a fair few books, maybe a couple of hundred and I can read a three hundred page book in a day so long as it's got my attention from the first couple of chapters...

When the decorating's finished I want to deck one of the spare rooms with shelves to hold all my books and dvds as I've got them everywhere at the minute...

I don't read anywhere near as much at the moment as I used to, but I'm in agreement with some of the other posts above:

Stephen King (pretty much everything)
James Herbert
Dean Koontz (preferably earlyish stuff like Midnight, Lightning and Watchers)
Shaun Hutson (some of his stuff is rather graphic but still very good - Stolen Angels was probably one of his more disturbing but less graphic ones)

Richard Hammond's book about the crash. Couldn't put that down.
And Wasting Police Time by David Copperfield. (It's written by a copper about Police life, it's very interesting).

Other than that, I rarely read books.

I have read hundreds of books and most of them, once picked up I struggle to put down. I have been known to read 6 largeish books one after the other without a break in 2 days. One of them was the Da Vinci Code which I did enjoy.
I will read almost anything, fiction, non-fiction and will persevere with the book even if I am not enjoying it too much. The problem I usually have is that I pick up a book, get lost in it and forget time & shut out anything that is going on around me. The only book I have never managed to get past chapter 4 is Gorky Park by Martin Cruz Smith, it is the only book that has ever defeated me.

The Road by Cormac McCarthy. Was a great read, real page turner and the lack of chapters meant I read it all in one go! If your a fan of the whole sci fi post apocalyptic genre, read it. If not the films out in January.

It's like The Godfather in scope as it follows a Mexican drug lord and a DEA agent over three decades. Based on true events and composites of real people it's unputdownable.

Columbian drug lords, Mexican traffickers, American DEA agents and cops, the Catholic church, Irish gangsters, Italian mafia, CIA hitmen, communist guerillas, chemical companies, high-class hookers...

Can't recommend it enough.
