Three Grand for a GSXR 600, good nick, full service history, R reg. Good deal? This or mint second hand -3000 miles CB500 for my first bike. Thing is, I really like GSXR's. But then, I know a CB500 is a very safe bet. But then, I really, really would love a GSXR. But then there is the insurance and that. But, I mean, a GSXR600 may well fill the empty gap in my life etc etc

If you take the gixer just treat it with the utmost respect until you are fully ok with it or it will see you off. As a first bike try an sv650 you get quite cheap insurance reasonable performance and excellent handling

Sweet as... I've been looking at newish Commuter 500's and older CBR's and GSXR's, but hadn't thought about SV650 at all. Didn't know they existed Embarassed Looks like it could suit me very well, though. Ah well, another one to think about, cheers man.

Not a problem Sir. As a footnote they sound feckin awesome with a set of cans on and you can embarrass quite a few sports bikes with the handling Wink

I take it you've passed THE test then? How much riding experience have you got?

Problem is that if you have this GSXR fixation you might not do with anything else but for long.

Hmm, buy the bike, behave yourself and learn to ride it properly, then buy a bigger one.

They can bite if you don't respect em but then so can any 600.

I wouldn't normally advise a new rider to buy a sports 600 really as a first bike, but I'm bored of telling people to do it the long way round and be sensible. As I said treat it with respect and you'll be ok.

p.s Oh and you will shit yourself when you ride any first "big bike" and don't kill yourself on it because you'll make me regret what I just said.

p.p.s I you do kill yourself just don't tell me about it ok! Wink

Edit: Ere Mike thought you had a Thundercat?
