Just wondering as new to bikes, i was riding my bike doing about 20mph and i pulled in the clutch and turned off the ignition to listen for a whining noise. This wouldnt ruin my speedo would it?It stopped working the morning after,When i went to work, but i had also changed the sprockets and chain that night and road it home in the rain.that morning that i discovered it stopped working i checked the speedo sensor and it had a split in it around were the wire meets the rubber around the sensor.i had the bike up on to axle stands on the swingarm while i changed the sprockets and chain so its possible that they damaged the sensor .Ive ordered another speedo sensor but just wondering if that doesnt fix the problem were I should look next.any advice is much apreciated.thanks. the bike by the way is 2007 aprilia rs125

Nah that wont damage the speedo turning it off while running,
most likely youve fudged it with the stands, the rs ones are prown to break anyway, i had my rs a year and used 3 speedo drives..
