Don't buy a big bike before doing your full bike test. I bought an SV and all I can do is bloody look at it!!! Failed my Mod 2 and now I can't stop thinking about my bike that I can't ride.

Sucks Crying or Very sad Thumbs Down

Mate....what happened to the bright side? You will re-take and you will pass...use your much loved SV to motivate you. What if you did pass the test first time and had no money to buy a bike for 2 years? Does that mean doing the test is pointless? No. Having the bike in the garage should really motivate to not give up. Failing is really crap, i passed 3rd time and the two times i failed i was so derepssed thought i will kill the examiner Smile. The weather is really crap anyway...use the 6 months left till summer to pass the test and once the summer will come...that's when the fun will start...Good luck!!!

Yeah, I know the feeling.

At least it gives you an opportunity to make sure everything's fine with it, do a bit of a servicing maybe.

I had my bike sitting in the back garden for a couple of months and by the time I finally got my license - it was super clean!

Daf mate, i'm sure it was you i got in touch with ages ago, and you said you were looking for something like a Fazer?

Talking about the brightside, just think, the moment you pass your test and get the insurance sorted, it's sitting there waiting to be ridden, as soon as you get back from passing you can get straight on her and hit the road!

That's awesome though buddy, SV650's are lovely bikes. Even if you can't legally ride it, and it is tormenting to look at, you can still get on her and start her up, give her some revs, that alone would cheer me up a lot, and possibly even make my day Very Happy Thumbs Up

Congrats with your mod 1 mate Thumbs Up

I'll probably re-take it as soon as I get some cash. Thinkin about doing the test in surrey. Did my original in Swansea and found that it was quite difficult, with poor sign markings.

Yeah mate it was me. I've ridden the SV on private(ish) roads and it was absolutely mint. Compared to the 125 that bike is insane. To seasoned bikers im sure it's quite slow but jesus christ does it move. Can't quite imagine what a gixxer or an R6 is like in comparison.

Just can't wait to pass now that's all.

My SV felt insane compared to my CB500, I couldn't believe they were the same insurance group!

BTW, if you haven't already come join us on the SV forums.

And what's stopping you riding it around in a car park/disused airfield or industrial park to get a bit of extra practice in... Confused

I honestly wouldn't recommend it.

It's not nice to loose your license, befer you even get it.

I had my current bike waiting for me..teasing me...so i put it in the works lockup. I had to ride it down there Razz it was great. Twisted Evil
Spent the odd weekend giving it a fettle, which was good learning.
Soon as i passed my test i rode my CG to its new owner, walked up the road and took my 250 for a legal spin...It was even better than i remembered.....for about 2 months Smile Now it feels apart of me....natural.

All good things to those that wait.

You'll get there Thumbs Up
