Sick look as bad as that chrome R1 in my eyes, what ever happened to the concept of subtlety? do most tuners have it surgically removed?

Y'know the phrase "bad crack"?

Not only is the 'crack' bad, but so is that 'bling'.

this is a cool scoot (a phrase you won't often hear from me)

https://img301.imageshack.us/img301/3743/ktmlambretta3.jpg

looks like a standard lambretta, but whats this under the hood?

https://www.motorcyclenews.com/upload/251734/images/ktm-lambretta-4.jpg

a 250cc, two-stroke KTM mill that makes 45 horsepower.

(They have also upgraded bits like the wheels and tyres and the brakes, and modified the four-speed gearbox to suit the KTM engine’s power delivery. The chassis, however, stays stock.)

but it is £10K.

That's quite a nice set up really, A mild state of tune so reliability would be quite high in comparison to some tuned lammy engines I've seen in my time.
And dont get me wrong people, I love subtlety just as much as everybody else, Like my ideal bike would probably be a Suzuki Intruder 800cc in black with all the chrome resprayed in a light gold.
But my most fun will always be had on a scooter, Thats just who I am =)

There is nothing wrong with modifying a modern scoot, and some twist&go's have been sone to a very nice standard too! All the ones you linked are just really OTT and very tacky though IMO.

I'm not a fan of the shape of the Runner, and even the Italjet dragster is a bit love it or hate it style wise, but i have seen very nice examples of both done with clean simple paintwork and colour co-ordination that has not been over done or had every different type of aftermarket scooter parts grafted on with the aim of trying to get a bit of every theme of scooter modification.

Choose a style you like and stick to it, and that goes for cars as well as bikes, scooters, houses etc etc.

I bet those women were pissing their sides thinking what the fuck anyone sees in those tacky, pointless pieces of shit.

Good effort with that KTM Lambretta though.

Regarding scooter custom, there seems to be a big difference between europe and japan. Many Low and wide styles on 250cc class scooters are main stream here.

Nice looking scooter DaveJPS, I really fancy something like that. Have a look at the lammy inovation site for similar scooters with engines from RD350/KTM/RD500 etc.

https://www.lambrettainnovation.co.uk/

To all the scooter hating lot.

Ride a decently tuned Gilera Runner 172 for an hour or so.

I can PROMISE you will walk away with a big fat smile on your face!

to be honest, i dont like scooters, but i can see a point to them as far as commuters, as for tuning, i couldnt think of a bigger waste of money.

We had a 200 gilera in work last year, hundreds spent on it, maybe thousands and the thing shot off the line like a motorcross bike, it was a right laugh!

but yeah, not sexy, sorry.

Ah, not desirable to look at, thats for sure.

But what is?

It's pretty flipping funny to stick it to people whilst riding a piaggio zip (possibly the gayest scooter ever) with a big 172 lump stuffed into it!

I have a Vespa PX125. It takes some getting used to, changing gear with your left hand and using the clutch at the same time Shocked It's a cool way of going slow Laughing The small wheels worry me. If I'd ridden it more, I'd probably have stacked it by now Confused Still debating whether or not to buy some DMs and bomber jacket and go on a scooter run for a laugh next summer Mr. Green
