A tidy 2000 reg 750cc bike has got to be worth £650 of anyone's money. If you don't want it, feel free to pass on the details Wink

its my mate thats got it, he brought it to do up and sell on but has now lost interest, its had new C&S, full service and front tyre, just needs the mot doing now. Its not my cup of tea but it seems to cheap not to buy. Would like to buy it and swap it for a sports bike

The nekkid version of the GSX750F. Can't speak for the bike as a whole, but I always liked their retro look. The motor's the same as the Mrs's bike, plenty of poke and highly unlikely to ever let you down. I'd have his hand off at that money if it's in good nick!

Hmm. Change the cams and it has around 100bhp and you want to get a sports bike that probably won't be any faster?

apart from the engine, it bares very little resemblance to the GSXF.

The frame is far closer to the bandit, with a twin shock rear subframe.

And the engine is in fact the venerable GSXR lump detuned as in all GSXFs and Blandits.

venerable means "deserving of veneration" ie worship.

Its the old GSXR750 slingshot oilcooled engine, detuned. Fit GSXR cams and you can get quite happily on the sunny side of 100 horsepower. Frankly one of the best engines ever produced to fit to a motorcycle.

Happy days then, looks like it might be worth a punt. To release extra ponnies will it just need cams or will it need carbs and lots of buggering about?

the carbs are smaller than the gixxer ones, but shouldnt present much of an obstacle.

I had one and loved it. Finish was a bit poor though. There were a few spots of rust here and there and it would have got a lot worse if I hadn't kept on top of it.

Engine wise it was rock solid. Very, very comfortable too. I bought mine for just over a grand and sold it for the same. It was a 2000 model.
