Just got a pair of these off eBay for £70, wanted a pair of decent textile trousers, that didn't cost a bomb, to wear all year round, and especially for winter.

MCN gave them a very high rating, and had nothing but good stuff to say about them, so i gave them a go.

Anyone have or have had these? Any opinions, what are they like?

Any replies will be greatly appreciated Thumbs Up

Cheers guys
Wink

I wont be buying akito stuff ever again!!!!!
Ive got the full suit and it was ok until i started removing the linings, then putting them back in,to match the weather.

The zip pulls in the trousers broke off very soon after buying them and then all the zipper runs started playing up and eventually i couldnt fasten any of the linings back in properly.Same thing happened with the jacket soon after and by the 6 month point i had to put it all on in stages....seperately Rolling Eyes

Functionally its an ok suit, nice and warm in the cold, and has decent ventilation for summer, but its rubbish in heavy rain..It`ll keep you dry on the inside most of the time if you`ve got the black fabric zipped in,but the outer fabric of the suit has minimal waterproof qualities and takes forever to dry out.Get yourself a good oversuit or you`ll live to regret it. Wink

Next time i buy textiles i`m going to spend a bit extra and get something decent.(goretex, proper YKK zippers, and better overall componants etc)

Cheers for the replies guys, 2 different opinions, but i've got them now, so i'll have to find out for myself Laughing

I might pick up a one piece rain suit of eBay too, there's some on there for just over a tenner, and they should do the job. You got any ideas max power, on what size rainsuit to get, i fit medium in everything, so should i get large to whack over the top?

The best textile jacket i have ever had, would have to be a £29.99 Weise Torque jacket, it was brand new off (you guessed it) eBay, and it was one size to small, but for that money, i couldn't say no. Well, it did the job for nearly a year, only gave it to a mate last week. It was completely waterproof, had YKK zippers, and thermal lining which was nice and toasty in the cold weather. I've rode for over an hour in rain which was lashing it down, and by the time i reached my destination, i was bone dry beneath the jacket, best buy i've ever made, for the money they're fantastic Thumbs Up

I've had nothing but good experiences with akito, their stuff seems pretty good, and a lot of shops sell them cheap on clearance just now.

Got my jacket from £130 to £35 Cool

Can't say anything about the trousers though, but i also had the zip problem - the pull bit snapped off. that was easily sorted with an old key ring Thumbs Up Laughing

i might invest in a set of the desert range if they are good Thumbs Up

I can thoroughly reccomend the el nino suit but it`s about £60-£80.Dont know if you want to spend that much but its a purchase you`ll be glad you made if you do decide to get one.
I`ve had other rainsuits in the past and they faired ok but after a while the dampness gets in coz the material is really cheap. They werent very windproof either.......whereas the el nino scores 10/10 and is without doubt the best suit on the market. It even folds away into its own little bum-bag so you can take it wherever you go without it being a hassle. Can fit spare visors into the bum-bag aswell so you can switch between tints and clear when you need to.
If you get one you`ll soon understand how good it is. . Wink

I wear large/xl gear and got a large el nino.It fits perfectly over textiles without restricting movement so if youve got medium textiles get a medium el nino.

I have a pair of leather Akito Blast gloves, worn them through plenty of heavy rain showers, and my hands have been dry, but when it's constantly pissing it down, and you've been riding for about an hour, they do get soaked through, which is a shame, but they are so warm in this cold weather we've been having, and with inner gloves, it's a match made in heaven Thumbs Up

Can't really fault the gloves, only cost me £20 Thumbs Up

Haven't spoken in a while dunc, how's the CG?

Umm.... i have some bad news.

The CG has been written off, Cat B.

But i've been offered a new frame, so could be that i'll rebuild it.

Cheers mate, now i no i've just blown £70 on a pair of trousers which are apparently shit Laughing

Thanks for the advice with the rain suit sizes though, because i was gonna buy a large, but i'll get medium now Thumbs Up

I really wish i could blow that kind of money on a rain suit, but i'm almost skint at the moment, only looking for a decent rain suit which i'll wear on odd occasions during the shit weather, so i'm only really planning on spending about £20, nothing special, but as long as it does the job for an hour and half 70 mile ride, i'm happy Thumbs Up

Anyone recommend a rain suit for about £20 or a little more?

Cheers you awesome people

Shit dude, sorry to hear, just read your sig and followed the link to the thread, geeze man, that's a nasty scrape, lucky you came out in one piece, and thankfully the jock the in the Espace admitted he was in the wrong and owned up, you get some twats out there which make out EVERYTHING is your fault, and they get really defensive.

Sorry to hear about your CG though buddy, can't believe your original CG was stolen, and then your next one is involved in a dramatic collision (which is awesomely pictured on your paint diagram Laughing) glad the cheap crap saved your skin Thumbs Up

Hopefully you'll be on the road soon, get better soon dude Karma Twisted Evil

Cheers man, yeah the insurance should be easy now Laughing

And the stuff really did save my skin, i was really surprised.

But yeah, been offered a new frame so could be rebuilding the CG again, but i've got one of my female friends wanting to get into biking, and i told her ages ago she could have mine after i'm finished... depending on my insurance payout it may be surplus to requirements Laughing

thinking about buying a hyosung GT125r for the cheapness of commuting, but good looks too Twisted Evil

If you're considering getting the Hyosung GT125R, then i'd definitely look into it Thumbs Up

It's a great bike for the size, it's reliable, pretty quick for a 4 stroke 125, and i'm sure it would be a thrill to ride. Perfect for commuting buddy.

I had a go on a black one the day i passed my CBT, went up and down this little road of the industrial estate, where the bike shop was, didn't have enough room to get the best out of it, but it sure did feel lovely to sit on, looks like a 600, and it sounds pretty with the standard exhaust.

If you've got the money, and you've got your eye on the Hyo mate, i'd check it out in person if you can, because it's a brilliant bike for a 125.

I have the Hyosung XRX 125, which i bought on the same day and from the same place i had a go on the GTR and took my CBT. I really liked the XRX, was cheap and affordable at the time so i got that, but if i had the money right there and then, i would of got the GT125R no matter what, it was impressive Thumbs Up

Can't fault Hyosung, heard nothing but good stuff about them, and my XRX has never missed a beat, it's a great bike, had good fun on it, and it's got a bulletproof engine, which has never let me down (touch wood) Thumbs Up

Not many people have heard of Hyosung, so whatever bike you get from them, will be mistaken for a Chinese one somewhere in your time of ownership, i can gaurantee Laughing

Nevertheless, as long as you no what's what, that's all that counts dude Wink

All the best mate Thumbs Up

Sweet, i've seen one before but only a breif look over and i fell in love straight away Laughing

Looks gorgeous though, especially the newer paint scheme with the red and black.

I'll have to wait till i get my insurance through, to see how much i'm getting.

I know i definately have £505 so far, just waiting on the personal injury claim.
