Hey there!
An odd one this, today my mate popped up in his Nova (Hes also got a motorbike so he's not all bad) with the music blaring as usual and driving like a rabid boy racer. As I can't drive at the moment I took this opotunity for him to drive me up to the bike shop so I could see how the bike was getting on. The bike shop is on an industrial estate, and opposite it is another shop (never exactly sure what they do there, but theres always lots of wrecked cars and nice bikes outside). Anyway my mate comes bombing along the drive to the bike shop (with music blaring out) and does one of his imfamous handbrake stops, slams it into reverse, small wheelspin and another wheel spin as we pull up to the bike shop. We go in, and have a chat with the shop owner, and suddnely notice that this huge TV camera is pointing right at us from over the road.
I ask the shop owner, and apparantly across the road the Discovery Channel are making a documentry on building a Trike from start to finish, and knowing these documentry type programmes I just know that they are going to show the embarrasing shot of me and said friend in a Nova driven like its owned by a prick while making clever comments / piss takes, to make matters worse not only was the music full on but one alloy wheel style hub cap was missing and the exhaust was blowing so it sounded like a boy racer Nova.
After we'd finished at the bike shop we figured that we already looked like plonkers, so why not milk it for laughs. On returing to said car, we put the worst CD we could find on full volume, Reved the hell out of the car and wheel spinned off leaving clouds of smoke and trundled off into the distance.
So, if you happen to be watching a programme on building trikes on the Discovery channel, and see two plonkers in a desperate Nova being the subject of a joke, let me know! The show is being filmed in Okehampton, the car was a patchy red / dark grey affair that sounds awful. I was wearing a cream coloured tatty Cardigan and Oily jeans, and my freind was wearing a yellow shirt, and Dungerees with those Tape measure style braces, we must of looked a right pair! Made us laugh the rest of the day mind you Brought it upon ourselves really!
