If you could have the perfect dinner party who would be there (alive or dead) and why do you think they would be a good guest?

As for the menu and drinks what would you serve up for them?

Mine for 6 people:

Me: Obviously.

Bruce Willis: I just think he would be a good laugh at a party.

Michael Palin: The guys been round the world a few times, I'm sure he would have some interesting stories to tell.

Jennifer Aniston: Somebody to play footsie with under the table, I'd also try my luck afterwards Very Happy

Aung San Suu Kyi: After I worked in Burma in 2008 I've always kept a close eye on the goings on over there. She would be an obvious choice to hear about her fight for democracy.

Billy Connolly: Nobody tells a funny story quite like the Big Yin Laughing

Menu:

Starter:
Loch Fyne scallops with stornoway black pudding and a simpe rocket salad.

Soup:
Cullen Skink

Main:
Aberdeen Angus steak with thick-cut chips and a red wine jus.

Dessert:
Sticky Toffee Pudding

After dinner I would serve the ladies some coffee, give the blokes a nice measure of Ardbeg Uigeadail and a nice Montechristo #2 cigar to puff away on.

Very Happy

In my dining room would be,

Adolf Hitler-I've got some questions for that dude.

Ghandi-Thought he might be interesting

Billy Connolly-One of the funniest blokes ever.

Sylvia Saint-I think this speaks for itself.

Gauge-See above.

Snoop Dogg-For the weeeeed! and postdinner entertainment.

Food served

Tomato soup
roast beef
profiteroles.

And if Sylvia and Gauge want to eat, they would have to service me on demand, my party my rules.

Hmmmm i think for my perfect 6 it would have to be :-

#1. Adolf hitler - His speeches were always very rousing

#2. 5 Random jews. Just so i could watch them rip him limb from limb.

Maybe try and get the party to loop itself, kinda like a groundhog day thing.

1. Ben Elton
2. Susannah Reid - presenter, BBC Breakfast
3. Steve Coogan
4. Jill Halfpenny - actress, Byker grove, eastenders
5. Johnny Vegas
6. Julia Davis - writer, actress, nighty night, gavin and stacey

I've thought about that list and I think it's good. It would be a right laugh having that lot together.

Thats a good invitation list. Apart from Ben Elton his voice does my tits in. Also Steve Coogan would have to come as Alan Partrige Laughing
I think a couple of Chianti's down Susannah's neck and she's be yours Laughing

I'd also like to add Morgan Freeman to my list, not to sit at the table, but rather stand in the corner and narrate the evening as it goes along Very Happy

2 - Nikki Sixx (for the stories of sex, drugs and rock n roll)

3 - Jessica Rabbit (no reason required surely!)

4 - Valentino Rossi (the token gay dude)

5 - Terry Prachitt (he writes great books so his outlook on life must be equally interesting)

6 - Me (obviously)

Starter - Chicken Tikka Puree

Main Course - Chicken breast wrapped in fillet steak, with a peppercorn sauce and fresh vegetables

Dessert - Proffita rolls / Treacle sponge + custard / Jessica Rabbit (me only)

Great thread, btw, really got me thinking!

For food, I would a massive Indian take away with lots of beer and lots of wine. I think Ben Elton would probably go home, that;s when I would get in touch with:

Harry Hill
Katy Hill - Blue Peter loveliness
Peter Andre
Will Young

I hoped, too, that Coogan would stay in charcter all night...

"ooohh, ladyboys".

I'd love to hear Will Young in my front room, just sets the mood before I take Susannah up the stairs...mmmmmmm

and then I'll pop downstairs and collect Jill and Katy, whilst Harry Hill keeps everyone amused.

Bugger never though about him, I would have to get the garden chair out and ask Bruce to budge over a bit Laughing

I bet Peter would get tipsy after 2 glasses of wine then go and sulk in a corner on his own and text Jordan for the rest of the evening.

I think it'd be really funny to watch Peter Andre trying to mix it with Will Young.

The list changes each time I'm asked, today it's...

1. Dara O'Briain. I like a good laugh. He's intelligent and quick witted.
2. Bill Bailey. I like a good laugh, and can jam with him after dinner.
3. Stephen Fry. I like a good laugh, and although he may spout bollocks, he does entertain me.
4. Jeremy Clarkeson. I like a good laugh, and we'd have the world sorted out by the end of the evening.
5. Paul McCartney. Would need someone else to talk music with. And to laugh about Heather Mills

Starter : a coarse pate and toast
Main : Crispy roast spuds, Yorkshire pudding, pigs in blankets, gravy
Dessert : Black Forest Gateaux

After dinner, G&T, a pile of spliffs and much talking of bollocks.

I thought Paul Mcartney was excellent on X factor. This looks like a good shin-dig. Save us a few spuds, me and Susannah will be over at about 11:30-12:00 have you got a drive, Peter Andre is dropping us off and his Range Rover is fucking massive.

You need some birds, though. Actually, fuck it, I won't bother. I think I'll stay at mine, have a good night, though, yeah?

I like it, but it's a bit of a sausage fest. I'll send over Aung San Suu Kyi, she's made it a bit awkward with just me and Jennifer after the boys went home. She'll be good company, she's just happy to be out of her house TBH.

Morgan is staying the night, he'll be narrating from the corner of my bedroom while I'm with Jennifer Very Happy

I've got a pretty big dinner table so my perfect dinner party would be with...

The Topgear presenters including the stig (Clarkson and co for laughs, Stig for the interesting stories)
Sly Stallone (Not just a musclehead but a rather intelligent bloke)
Adolf Hitler (As Mentioned he gave some very good speeches)
Ghandi (He led an interesting life and had some great curry recipes)
Bruce Lee (Very clever bloke and could kick out the rabble rousers)
William Shakespeare (A pretty clever bloke who wrote a few plays)
Steven King (Writes decent horrors but genuinely screwed in the head)
Charles Dickens (Wrote a few good books was ahead of his time)
Sting (The American Wrestler and a childhood hero)
Jessica Rabbit (If there's a real version of her I want to meet her)
Helen Hunt (M.I.L.F. also made a few films)
Michael Schumacher (Well renouned party animal)
The Beatles (Wrote a few songs and I loved Ringo's narration of thomas the tank engine stories)
Lee Evans (Funniest bloke EVER end of)
Steve McQueen (Coolest bloke who ever lived)
Marilyn Monroe (The original sex bomb phwoar)

and I would serve...

Gazpacho Soup
Roast Beef with all the trimmings
Nut Log (Ghandi, Macca, Lennon and hitler, he was a veggie apparently jews meant less to him than chickens or cows)
Raw Cow (for Stig and possibly Stallone)
Baileys Cheesecake

For me i try to keep the numbers down and make it count.

Bruce Lee: A great man in many many ways, a great inspiration as i grew up and id love to hear what he has to say. I know he loved himself a little, but shit, the dedication of the bloke has rarely been matched.

Arnold Swarzenegger: Again, a great man, he's lived an interesting life coming from his region in Europe, connecting with some of the most powerful influential people of our time. He has a wicked sense of humour too, i think id be in tears listening to him talk over dinner.

Mitchell & Webb: An intelligent duo and right on my level with the humour, they'd keep the night interesting. Thats all i can say really, rarely anything strikes me as brilliant on TV until they came along.

Keith Flint & Liam Howlett: The source of most of my musical input. I love the Prodigy even if they have become some what of a sell out bunch these days....Liams a genius, Keith is a good bloke.

Kate Winslet: Beautiful, well spoken, elegant, witty and fun, to me, exactly my kind of women. Ive seen her in a number of interviews and just think she is ace.

Scarlett Johansson: Might clash with the beauty of Kate but i dont care, i really warmed to her in 'lost in translation' she's like the girl you would kill to marry. Wow.

Monica Belluci: bollox to it, id feed her the finest wine until she went home with me, i wish i could clone her from some hair twice and make love to her all day for ever. YUM. Laughing

I have a rapidly changing list, but today I'd invite over:

Sir Jackie Stewart One of my heroes, Mum used to work with him back in the day and reckons he's great company and could discuss meeting the Queen with
Sir Ranulph Feinnes My most favourite hero, an amazing man who would have so many stories to tell.
Stephen Fry An obvious choice - he could flirt with...
Freddy Mercury Another lifelong hero. I'm constantly gutted he died before I had chance to see him perform. Plus he could play piano duets with...
Ludwig Van Beethoven (before he was deaf, and was still all young and gorgeous) One of the most stunning, attractive socialites of his day. Everyone loved his persona and every woman wanted to be taught piano by him. Try and ignore the crazy haired old man always depicted
Yoshiko Kawashima (Eastern Jewel) What a life that lady had as a princess, a spy and eventually executed as a traitor. Not only was she compelling as an entertainer she would also have some jaw dropping 'tricks' to share with Stephen Fry and Freddy

I think there would have to be very much an Eastern theme to the meal, with lots of sake and sushi. I'd have very little to add to the conversation, but would be more than happy listening Thumbs Up

[edit] I'd invite Seth Lakeman too, then I could hole up in a corner with him and seduce him until he agreed to marry me. It'll never work
