Does anyone know the most efficient way to burn out a speed camera? ____________________ Doug97 wrote: Fuck you, what they did was awesome. You just wish you had the balls to be like them, instead of being constantly afraid that there's a rule somewhere out there you might be breaking. |

What than putting a tire over it pouring petrol then setting it on fire?
How much easier do you want it? I suppose you could stare at it and try Jedi Mind trick it ablaze. ____________________ Well, you know what they say. If you want to save the world, you have to push a few old ladies down the stairs.

I don't mind GATSOs. They're easy to spot, and usually not even active. As for the forward facing cameras they use in many counties, and indeed the average speed cameras
The more the authorities rely on cameras, the fewer traffic police are on the roads who have a real chance of surprising and spotting speeding riders.
It's the hidden camera vans and radar guns that piss me off, and you can't just vandalise those (at least you can't and get away with it). ____________________ Current: Ducati Panigale R / Ducati Streetfighter S / Suzuki GSX-R1000 L5 |

Thermite would be a good way to destroy one....
It'd slowly melt and ooze through the camera..... |

If you had something solid like a landy you could try throwing a rope over and pulling it down.
The easiest way to disable one though, rather than destroy, is spraying over the sensors. Nice and quick, and cheap.
I think we should have a BCF competition. Register under different names as to avoid getting caught, and then post examples of your "work".
Whoever wrecks the most cameras, or the most spectacular destruction, wins. |
Nah, subtle is the way to go for me. If you go to any shop like hobbycraft you can buy spray glue, in an aerosol. It is clear, so it won't show but it is blurry as hell and sets like, well, glue
Spray that over the sensor and camera windows and the camera will be useless. The good thing is that it is clear, so the vandalism won't show and removing it requires thinners.
Cheers

Surely the most amusing way would be to simply tie a bin bag over it... repeatedly. It'd take at least a week for anyone to notice then call an engineer trained to remove bin liners to come out and remove it. If you keep an eye on the camera you'll know quite quickly that the bag has been removed, then go and stick another one over it!
See how many times you can repeat this before you get caught! ____________________ Previous: Aprilia Habana Retro 50cc (beauty), Yamaha SR125 (fell apart), Honda XR125 (nippy little commuter), Honda SLR650 (Geewhizz), Yamaha Diversion 900S (Smoooooth) written off courtesy of a stupid escaped horse.

I just thought of how they are paid for too....
To be honest i doubt a few wrecked camera's wont cost much to fix as opposed to all the other bullshit our government spends our money on.
I would much rather kill a camera and have the tax payers money fix it than some smug cunt of an MP taking a bit for pocket money or to fund something stupid like this:

I hate this government, i know i've gone a bit off topic but i'd trust a baby more with my money than i would the government ____________________ Riding as fast as you can sounds like a good speed to me

I seem to remember Jay Leno on his recent Top Gear appearance saying that they wouldn't last in the USA as people would shoot them.
He then was surprised why no-one superglued cups over them.
Does anyone know if a large McDonalds coffee or pop cup would do the job?

As ashwell points out in the big scheme of things it hardly makes any difference, but another aspect of it is that the department of transport has a budget, and if every camera across the land was taken out, I think they wouldn't be given any extra by central government to replace them.
| chris-red wrote: | What you can do is note the reg of it, get some plates made for it, then speed past it about 6 or so times. |
I can imagine that on a big scale with hundreds of people doing it, it could really snarl up their system, but the occasional one could be dealt with relatively easily maybe..?

While I like that, it doesn't have the same impact as seeing a torched one. Part of the attraction of all this for me is the outward display of civil disobedience against something that is fundamentally wrong.
If the British electorate are starting to develop a backbone when it comes to these things, it would be nice for all to see a bit of extra encouragment, via the medium of burnt out cameras
| flip wrote: | I imagine the punishment for destroying a camera is ridiculous though. |
According to this article in the Times, it's up to ten years.
So, if you do do something, don't whatever you do, get caught doing it ____________________ A Guide To Powerbands |
