Johnathon Ross (film 2009) said he could not wait to see it again.
Radio 4 (front row) said they could not wait for it to end.
Anyone seen it?

Seeing it at Imax (never been to one before) on Friday so will find out if it's any good. It's been banged on about for ages as some kind of revolutionary film, from what I've looked at until now I fail to see anything particularly unique about it to be honest but i'll give it the benefit of the doubt.

Last film I went to see that was hyped up, was batman. I thought it would be quite good but not as good the hype had made out.

It was actually far better than the hype had suggested. Very different movie, but I may well go see Avatar to see what all the fuss is about. I quite like Phoenix's plan of going to the Imax to see it, as I think its 3D or something.

Chances are if I do see it, I'll just go to my local cinema, which is fairly good, even if I don't get the full effect.

We are going to see it next monday - in 3D. Have never watched a full 3D movie before so should be interesting. Mainly going as my younger brother who is a games designer for ubisoft is totally obsessed with the whole 3D thing right now. Played a bit of a private project he has been working on the other week - shooting zombies in 3D is quite good fun!

One of my mates is so excited about going to watch it, he's painting himself blue. He's 35. I wonder if James Cameron knows he's done this to people?

What James Cameron must ask himself is, was it worth the $237,000,000 budget?

I'm off to see it some time this week I think.

Me and some friends were discussing this on a stroll back from the pub last night and figured the only option would be to see it in 3D at an IMAX so will probably do that this weekend or shortly after.

I know what pehnoix is saying regarding being unable to see whats so revolutionary about it, an I saw trailers in the cinema as well, but it's James Cameron, and lets face it anything he touches is gold, so I shall maintain the faith.

It's actually closer to $500,000,000

Strangely enough this has completely passed me by. I can honestly say I hadn't heard of this film until the last couple of days when it was plastered all over the news sites. dont think i have even seen a trailer of it.

What the fuck is it about anyway? Blue cats in space Confused

Basically ,it's Sci-fi and it's by James Cameron....that is really all I need to be sold on the idea.

Mr Cameron needs to return to action, and show all this new, rubbish lot how it's done - I'm looking at you Michael Bay, and the mess you made of Transformers 2.

And with the groundbreaking aspect, it's not going to be 100% new, they've just actually invested a decent amount into the 3d, rather than all the gimmicky stuff we've seen lately....and apparently the special effects aren't half bad.

I'm going on Friday lunchtime (by myself Embarassed ) as I'm working up till christmas, and don't want to go in the weekend rush as it will be packed....especially as the local cinema only have 1 screen playing it.

Not a huge cinema goer, but I've seen two films in 3D. First one was Space Hunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone. I loved that film...

The second was Jaws 3. Not so smitten with that. It's odd watching it on ordinary telly, you get completely over-done shots of a leg floating in the water or a trident coming towards the camera. If you didn't know it was originally shot in 3D, you'd wonder what the hell they were doing...

I think inorder to properly appreciate a film like Avatar, you'd need to see it on a big screen so I might make an effort.

Seriously though, I wanted to BE Wolff from Space Hunter.

Might give it a go when I get back home.

I'll be going for the full effect though and going to the IMAX in Glasgow (I've never been) and see what all the fuss is about.

I've been to the Imax in Glasgow, they showed some film about a mad scientist. It had all sorts of stuff going on, rollercoasters, space ships etc etc etc.

Put together, it a) gave me a headache and b) put me to sleep. The only upside was it was raining outside and being as I was in the building, I didn't get wet, although a feel standing in the rain might have been more thrilling than watching the film as it was, mmm, what's the word? Shite?

Ocht no.

You should go, the film was just really boring. Also, I'm ancient and a bit of a luddite, my brain can't handle that level of input, I just go into screen saver mode.

Oh an apparently part of the new 3d technology Cameron has been working on, is to remove the 3d blurryness, and the headaches......hopefully it will.

I'm looking forward to the final showdown....most of the films he has made...you think you have reached the climax.....then it goes on....you think its finished.....then it carries on again, and almost always it's good.....think of Aliens....they escape the complex...first climax.....then Ripley goes back, saves girls and gets home safely.....second climax....then boom.....Alien Queen.

God, Aliens is epic.

I'm going to go to the Glasgow IMAX to see it as the ticket prices are the same as Cineworld for a 3D film and I've not been to an IMAX before.

Saw Ice Age 3D at the flicks recently and they managed to blend the 3D in with the film if that makes sense. Rather than a normal film with some 3D effects it seemed to add to the film and didn't distract you.

just back from seeing it (no spoilers)

Visually fucking epic, if you want to see it see it in 3D cause it's the only way to appreciate the work in it.

final verdict; if you want to see it do it on the big screen DVD/torrent won't do the visuals justice Thumbs Up
