I was wondering if anyone out there would know how i'd go about getting a mirror finish on some farings. I don't mean make them really shiny or anything, i'd like a chrome effect as if the whole bike is a mirror sort of thing.

Thumbs Up

Take it easy there kids Wink

I hear Mr Sheen is pretty good at getting a shiny finish - it's what most of the dealers use apparently

Saw a completely chromed Fireblade at Boxhill once.

I believe it's rather dubious, cos the sun can reflect off it so harshly as to dazzle other drivers, or to completely hide you in the sun.

Rolling Eyes I don't want my fairings to be clean I want them to look like a mirror, as if they were polished aluminum. Very Happy

We're only playing... Wink

Don't know about chrome effect but did see a bike once that'd been resprayed. They'd put metal chips into the paint (professional job). This had the effect of making it 'sparkle' and it had a different look depending on how the light hit it. Try asking if this can be done at a repair place?

There was a site that was spammed on BCF before, turns out now it might actually be of some use to you. You should check out https://www.alsacorp.com/chrome.htm. Not sure if similar piants are available over here or not though.

Halfords do an Aluminium spray paint, I have no idea what the finish is, but I suspect it's just silver, lacquer it enough and it'd be reflective silver, but not chrome.
