help my bike is sluggish !!!

i brought my bike last sunday and started riding it about like you do !! Very Happy i soon found out that my bike was pullin away slowly the top end speed was slow but the bike was derestricted and had a sports exhaust Crying or Very sad the bike is a piaggio nrg 50cc and my top speed is 57 on flat i need to make the over all performace of my bike better!!!!!

i havent decided on whether to stick with my NRG or to sell it and buy a Derbi senda which was my dream bike Mr. Green



can anyone out there help me ???

On the off-chance he isn't a troll. (That picture is overused too, find another one, you need to keep the sarcasm fresh. Wink )

From that bike with it derestricted, thats your lot in terms of performance. I've derestricted an NRG and to get it going much faster than that, you'd need to take it on the train or put it in the back of a van.

Seriously, though, 57mph isn't bad for a 50cc.

The only thing you could do is to look into spending a good bit of cash tuning the engine (70cc kit, bigger carb, nice pipe etc...) Personally I'd just live with the performance until you can get a 125. As people have said 57mph aint bad for a fifty.

Please please please, don't ride that little 50cc at 57mph all the time. I would say a suitable cruising speed is 45-50 mph. If you put it at too much strain your going to pop the piston then need the rebuild. Make sure you use good quality oil too... Castrol TTS.

thanks guys for your help ive already got the exhaust and air filter professionally cleaned and it seemed to help it a bit....... but your advise helped
