Hi everyone,

I'm new to the bike scene having passed my cbt and das in a all in one package at a local school, having no previous riding experience, was always something I wanted to do, and when I split up from a girlfriend I thought I was going to treat myself Cool

I'm 24 and from Redcar near Middlesbrough, have searched on forums for meetings in the area but to no avail (its how I found this website).

I did my DAS on a 98 bandit, and loved it, when I passed I bought a 08 plate gsf 650 sa, I love it to bits, and love riding, I have had 1 or 2 hairy moments but it matured my riding style and now I take it easy pretty much everywhere I go now and only open her up when it is safe to do so (if thats ever possible lol).

Looking forward to hanging around on here and learning more about riding and the fantastic bikes we love so much, hopefully there will be someone in the area too that would be up for meeting up.

Whitby is quite popular and see many bikers on the way just wish I knew them.

P.S The bottom photo is before I took off the original bazooka exhaust, replaced with a Beuwolf Laughing

Welcome! Looking good, very nice machine.

You should definitely sign up for a Bandit owners forum (https://www.banditforum.co.uk/ is one) as you'll find it a great way to meet people. Bandits are very popular so there should be no shortage of fellow owners!

Still should go over the boots in wet weather! Wink

Awesome choice on the Spada Racing boots, I have the same pair. Bought them brand new a few weeks ago.. Have you ridden with them in the rain yet? I find that even though they're brand new they still let a lil bit of damp in towards the front inside of each foot..

I just noticed in the pic it says ABS, whats that like then when you slam the brakes on? is it the same as the ABS in a car where it "crumbles"?

I asked for the dealer to throw them in with the bike when I bought it, they have been great for 6 months but sadly the zip has broke on one and both bits of plastic at the front toe cap soon came off, but they are comfortable.

Not sure about the word crumbles, but when I apply the brake, even just gently, you hear the abs make a strange noise, It has kicked in once or twice when stopping quickly in the wet, and it is like of a car where it kicks in and releases and kicks in again repetitively, I like it Very Happy

Hello - just so you know...there are NO rules about how you wear your kit...or WHAT you should wear (just the lid).

We do have fashion and protection nazi's on this forum...as you may have noticed. But they hold no jurisdiction over the majority of us. Wink
