I think it looks brilliant. If it wasn't for the price, i could actually see them being popular.

You have to buy a proper aston, or already own one in order to buy a baby aston though.

So it's not £20k, it's more like £100k or however much aston martins cost.

Chill guys,

Its all a cunning ruse because there is some new Euro legislation that taxes car manufacturers on the CO2 produced in their range. Aston, as it happens are pretty fcuked in this regard. But, the fact that they offer a nice town car with a low CO2 rating now means that they won't be taxed as much. Its not even as if they have to do much, all they have to do is take a Toyota iQ and take a panel beating mallet to the bonnet. Simple aint it?

I suspect it won't be long before we're seeing town car Ferraris and electric Lamborghinis.

Their designer has done a good job making it look pretty and sporty, but it's just another sardine can on wheels.

Quite clever, it will demostrate how weathy the driver is...

"My other Aston is an Aston".

type of thing but not having to drive the real Aston around town and on the commute. I think rich people will love this concept.

The car is, of course, dogshit. It's a sad, sad insight of the world to come.

Its a let down, it looks a nice little car but who bought one then went to work saying fancy a look at my new aston and everyone had the immediate fit of jealousy then looked and said where is it then? saw it and pissed themselves laughing. if you want one by a fiat 500 sport cheaper better looking and no one will think you have brought it under the influence of drugs.

I think it would appeal to alot of city-dwelling aston owners, because obviously taking a V12 Vantage to the shops isn't ideal, and to alot of these people money is no object.

To be honest I reckon it's a pretty economically sound move by Aston Martin, even without the tax issue.

Essentially this car is an optional extra,

Would you like the Carbon brakes on your DBS sir? Only £10k. Yeah why not? What about the Cygnet, Only £20k?

Thinking about it you could make a quick buck on this, buy one then sell It on straight away I dare say some plonker without an Aston would pay £25k for one.

Personally I would rather have the Abath 500 or the Mito (the one with 155bhp Laughing )

Not so sure, if money is no object i cant see people being bothered about taking a v12 to the shops.

How the hell are they going to stop someone buying a 2nd hand DB7/9 whatever, buying this tiny thing, then selling the DB7/9 whatever again!? Confused

Maybe because it would cost money?

I suspect it only works when you're a registered "bought from new" aston customer.

Being honest, if I was in a position to run an Aston, i'd use the fossil burning, co2 churning, sexy sounding, environmentalist burning beast everywhere. I protest mind, of how much this climate change bullshit is irrelevant to us. Thumbs Up

In this case, the sardine can on wheels would be pretty redundant to me. Smile

It looks like it belongs outside tesco rocking backwards and forwards making brum brum noises, 50p a go.

Who is actually going to buy one though, it is an unmodified (except the front) Toyota IQ yet costs double. If it's just to dodge a new EU law it shows how daft and pointless most EU laws are.
