My first off :(

Coming home on Thursday night, the snow made my evening more eventful.

Firstly when I had got about a mile or so away from my college I was feeling that my bike was warm enough to turn the choke off, so when I got the chance pulled up to the side in the traffic popped my head down the side, turned choke off. Looked back up their was a police van sat their looking at me, what have I done now.....

"Alright mate, your battery a bit low your rear brake light is a bit dim, you alright?" shouted the cop through his van window.
"Yeah I am good cheers, just turning my choke off." I reply.
"Well you just take it easy for me alright son, take care ride easy, remember not too much front break" the cop responded before driving on.

Just an example of not all coppers being complete ......(pick your word) as many think, you do get the all rights ones.


As was snowing decided to stay at friends house for the night as the roads to his house are less rural then to my house, about 500meters from his house, turning right at some crossroads, straighten bike up, my road noise goes silent.

Next thing I know my bike is dropping fast to the right. Its on the floor and I am lieing down in the middle of the road.
Heard a car getting a bit too loud for my likings, there is a jaguar far too close for comfort, driving around my bike falling to realise that when their is a motorbike on the floor there is normally a rider nearby. At the sametime a women pulled up and got out helped me get my bike up.
Once my bike was up on and two wheels I made the jaguar driver very aware of how I did not appreciate the front end of his car being so close to my head when I am lieing in the middle of the road.
Checked bike all fine apart from my right hand mirror which has no mirror left in it and my brake lever has been rounded off a bit everything else fine. Kept driving down the road towards friends house, there is the jaguar pulled over sat shaking and being very apologetic as I ride past.

Think I might have been a little bit too verbal.


Bike is fine just need new right hand mirror.
I am good, just had a sore left shoulder for a while leathers took the impact.

For the grammar police: sorry for bad use of there and their etc I never get it right.

It's easily done in this weather. I covered about 4 miles today and nearly came off about 15 times

No serious harm done to the bike and you didn't break any bits of yourself - and you've got the first one out of the way now.

Lol had the opposite couple hours ago ..

Pulled into a side road and fought to keep the bike from tipping over . Stood in the centre of a huge ice circle and had to get off bike to push it out .

While I was pushing a police van passed and shouted out the window to take my helmet off to speak to me . Took helmet off , still holding bike in centre of ice with other hand and almost drop bike again .

'Why are you messing about on the ice when it's dangerous ?'

Sorry to hear about your off, at least there isnt much damage to yourself or the bike. Some car drivers are in a world of their own but at least the lady helped you

Ahh, unlucky to hear about your off, glad not too much damage to you or the bike.

Looks like you came across one of the nicer coppers. Ignore the driver behind you, if they are an inch off your number plate they are usually a jag, bmw, or merc driver.

did a similar thing on friday, going round a round about at about 5 mph, i mustve pulled thr front break or soemthing as front wheel slipped out, bent wing mirror and front break lever, just a busted up knee, but overall not too bad for my first crash...... do love the british public.... not one person stopped, but everyone slowed down to look at me on the floor bike on top of me

Got caught in the snow at work today
Was spinning then locking the back wheel getting off site just with the clutch. Scary as... Will be walking if it is like this tomorrow.

If I believed in God, I might have seriously thought the bugger was trying to test riders in my part of the world today. Pissed with rain on top of snow and ice, which then started freezing...and the wind began getting up, just around the time the traffic was reaching critical mass...and it was around that point every bloody HGV seemed to simultaneously start dumping diesel all over the place.

Amazingly, I didn't see anyone on their arse, though it must have happened a few times. Never seen so little gritting in such bad weather

Sorry to hear about your spill. The weather has been fucking shit and I really need to get my bike MOT'd ASAP (want to do it tomorrow or else it'll probably have to wait till new year and deadline is 10th of January). I took the train to work yesterday (£20 for a bastard ticket!). First time in nearly 2 years of riding that I gave in to the weather. Took the rest of the week bar Christmas day off as leave as I can't afford to keep going on the train. Hopefully we should be thawing out soon!

I enjoying my bike only the deep snow that bothers me. Unlike you though I want to upgrade my bike for somethng that sits at 70 more comorable uphill with headwind etc...

It passed MOT yesterday with no advisories, absolutely bulletproof bike, plus I try and do all repairs/maintenance on it myself which saves a heap of money. Keep loving the bike!
