Three pictures of my new (2me) Honda Magna VFC 750. It's '02, a one owner bike imported new from Japan, 4000kms. It seems pretty standard except for a chrome cover on the radiator and the sissy bar, which I might take off as I now rarely carry anyone pillion, and it also breaks the line of the bike a little. The exhausts seem to be standard. It's a good deal quieter than the Kawasaki. I might change that a little, or I might not. The pipes look well. It's pretty low, easy and relaxing to ride, yet also reasonably fast, with roughly 80 bhp. Given the low temperatures I haven't ridden too much between today and yesterday, but I do like it. ____________________ Honda Magna VFC 750, Honda Lead, Kawasaki KZ750B Kawasaki KZ750 Suzuki GT380 |

I quite like the idea of V4 cruiser because it runs fast, nice exhaust note, and rich bottom end torque(not like IL4 Eliminator).
But there's not so much V4 cruisers. Royal star is too heavy and not sporty anymore!
I especially liked the design of 2nd V45 Magna(with dish rear wheel). But I like the 3rd one too. Nice bike ____________________ own:2020 Serow 250

Thanks.
Ya, the Royal Star is a descendant of the tourer Venture Royale which supplied an engine to the Vmax, and since there was no Vboost on this side of the pond, the Vmax might have seemed a naked Venture Royale.
I think the second Magna was the super Magna which had a bit more oomph, or perhaps the US tariff busting 700cc version which also was pretty fast.
Strange that the first Magna, well the V65, had double disks up front and a single disk in the rear. Why do cruisers tend to have crappy brake? A bikes like the Magna might get ridden fast. The original Kawasaki z750 started out with disks front and rear. A custom version, the CSR, had a rear drum. It might be something to do with bobbers, dunno.
My only negative on the Magna is the limited size of fuel tank. ____________________ Honda Magna VFC 750, Honda Lead, Kawasaki KZ750B Kawasaki KZ750 Suzuki GT380 |
