hi i just wondering would anyone here be able to help . im lookin for a magneto or anyone who could repair one for me please . its for my 1939 bsam20 . thank you .

Have you tryed calling SRM? they normal do magneto/alternator repairs or will know someone who does.

not made of money . but the bike was running well . till mag gave out . in all she just needs a mag and tyres . have spare engine and timing gears . have 2 mags but they both nackered . see i love old bikes .

Hi

I had a Vincent one done by Dave Lyndsay (sp?). Decent job but not the cheapest.

Given a week or so I might be able to find the details of someone cheaper (know someone who had one rebuilt by an ex Lucas bod who does them in his spare time).

...are you certain the carbon brush is doing its job? I had a brush break in half on an old M21, looked fine when I glanced at it, also had the spring behind it fail - temp fixed with a biro spring.

I can PM you the number of a guy that does my work if you like. It generaly costs you about £130 for him to rebuild your mag.

Kickstart, could you PM me the name of the ex Lucas guy? I may know him as I worked at Lucas, if it is the same guy I would not recomend him as he made a pigs ear of a mag for me once.
