Internal Bar Weights

right this has been annoying me lately

bars require weighting to help prevent vibration is this the only reason?

my point is tho, why oh why, does the design of weight a bar involve such a stupid and complex system of weights, screws, snap rings and various other combinations of crap, that is next to impossible to actually install on a bar unless you are Soichiro Honda himself? to the point where my local garage was sceptical about wanting to do it (whats that about?)

it just strikes me as why dont they just make the bar solid, rather than hollow, or at least part solid, or weld the weight inside so it will never come out and cause me frustration cos one bar is weighted and the other isnt

can anyone explain this stupid design?

The bar weights on my ZZR600 are very straightforward. Just fastened on to the end of the handlebars with one screw.

those are the bar end weights, im taking about the internal weights that they screw into

Hi

Not really seen any internal weights clipped in place. Think just about every bar I have see has had a threaded piece of metal welded inside it for the weight to bolt to.

The Bimota does not have any handlebar weights.

I rode my VFR without the bar end weights once... never again. There was a really niggly and buzzy secondary vibration. My hands ended up numb.
