Hi all,
I'm Matt from Havering, Essex and currently riding a Triumph TT600. I've been lurking for a few months and thought I better sign up and get posting.
I'm 22 and started riding from the age of 16 on a Honda X8R scooter, my CBT ran out and forgot all about biking for a few years. Then the biking itch struck again so decided to re-do my CBT and go for my A2 license.
I did all my training with Academy Motorcycle Training in Romford and passed 3rd time lucky. Coincidentally, I was in the same group for my training as neil.martin on here (I was the guy with the loud Stebel horn), unless he has a doppelganger then I could well be mistaken!
Then back in May 2009 I had a nasty bump on the TT600. I overtook a Tesco van only to have the car hidden in front of it swing a right onto his drive. Luckily I glanced off the front wing, but not before ripping the left hand fairing off my bike and partially destroying his wing. Needless to say, I ride a lot more cautiously now.
I don't really know anyone else with bikes and none of my mates are interested in them (the heathens) so thought I would join up and meet like-minded people. If there's anyone in the area who fancies meeting up give us a shout as it can get a bit boring riding around on your own all the time.
Couple of pics below of the bike before and after the accident and a pic of the car I clipped.
Sorry for the megapost!

Welcome to the forum.
Nice bike mate I would whore out my TT just for this thread, but I can't be bothered uploading what few pictures I have to this laptop.
Hmmm, I'm 22, none of my friends have bikes either and I crashed my TT in May 2009. TT600 appreciators must all be spiritually linked... All 12 of us. ____________________ Current Bikes: Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 (2020)

From then on, I and the bicycle feelings deeper. |

Thanks for the warm welcome and the kind comments guys and girls, glad to see there's a few TT600 appreciators about too. There's a guy who used to live down the road from me had a TT600, albeit in bits on his front drive so best make that 13!
Maybe we should start an RSPCTT to rival the RSPCCG group, what we lack in numbers we make up in crashes |

I couldn't go away empty handed
When I was re-building it, I found something wedged just behind the frame and couldn't work out where it had came from or what it was. Took a chance and pulled it out and it turns out it was a headlight wiper from the Merc which had impaled the fairing and took out my coolant temp sensor.
Here's a pic to show roughly where it is,

The thing about TT600s is that when one dies, the rest each become more powerful, somewhat like Jet Li's "The One".

You sound like my Twin
Where in Havering are you? I'm from Hornchurch I have a Speed Four and also did my training with academy, AND I'm 22. ____________________ Well, you know what they say. If you want to save the world, you have to push a few old ladies down the stairs.
Skudd:- Perhaps she just thinks you are a window licker and is being nice just in case she becomes another Jill Dando.
WANTED:- Fujinon (Fuji) M42 (Screw on) lenses, let me know if you have anything. |

If you're my twin does that mean I get 22 years of backdated birthday/christmas presents?
I'm from Romford unfortunately, just near the bus station on North St. Not through choice I might add though!
I think Muzza might be on to something here - the similarities between TT600/S4 owners are uncanny! There's probably an ancient legend in the annals of time fortelling of a Triumph prophecy somewhere.
Could look a little something like this

Hi Matt! Sorry for not replying to this thread for so long, I must have missed it. Glad you passed in the end, that examiner was bloody strict wasn't he? You had the red crosser style bike didn't you? I'm still on the 125 which I will eventually run into the ground unless I win the lottery or something! Anyway, nice to see you here, sorry to hear about your crash but it could have been worse and all that... Take it easy. ____________________ CBT February 2008 | A2 June 2008 | Yamaha YBR125 (written off) | Honda CBF125 (current) |
