I would like to say thank you to the biker who stopped and waited with my lost dog (Milly) on Brynamman mountains. The biker waited for over 3 hours in freezing cold conditions with the dog and didn't leave any details so we could thank him.

So from me and my family we are eternally grateful to you. Out of the many that uses the road it took a biker to stop and wait in the cold rather than a someone in a car who could have easily stayed warm.

Two dogs went missing that day, and one never returned. We went shooting and the dogs got spooked which was very very unusual. So as sad as it has been to have lost a dog, it is nice to know that people are good enough to go out of their way.

Picture of our dogs attached, one who is no longer with us (Holly at the back) and one who was returned (Milly at the front)

So again thank you, and If it was someone on this forum then please let yourself be known to us, we owe you a massive favour. Karma Karma Karma

Shooting what? Animals? If so, I'm overwhelmed with irony

Glad to hear you got your dog back, did he spot the dog, realise it was lost and just sit waiting for you? What a Samaritan

It was more training for the dogs, but we were up the mountain shooting rabbit. We usually make rabbit curry which is amazing. Yeah the guy waited there with the dog after phoning the dog warden. We spent the whole week searching for them both, and after being lost for 4 days milly was found in a state by the biker. (we were told a few days later) Our other dog must have been overtaken by the cold and died.

How come your overwhelmed by irony? Please explain

Correct me if I'm wrong, but rabbits are considered pests, and thus it's more pest control than a sport.....

I don't disagree with hunting, and I'm happy that you got your dog back, how is he/she? Hungry I bet?

Thanks mate, Yeah she was hungry and very shaken.

As for shooting for sport, it's only sport when you shoot just for the thrill of it. We eat whatever we shoot, always have!! It's a lot more pure to get the meat the way I do than being blind to the way meat get's onto the supermarket shelves and onto your plate.

I feel "murdering animals for sport" does not apply to me.

I wouldnt worry too much about what he said mate as he`s just trying to be clever/judgemental but without actually coming straight out and saying it.
Here`s real irony for you (about captaincallcentre or whatever name he`s going to use next time he gets banned)

A man walks through life ( him) ^^^with a self confessed hatred for pakistanis....despite the fact theyve never even done anything to him.
One day...a group of them jump him,mug him of his belongings, and leave him with a broken jaw and a bruised ego.

Oh ...how ironic is that!!!!..lol....could this be karma at work?? or divine intervention??....you reap what you sew???. Mr. Green

I'll kill an animal for fun, I've already said that I don't have anything against hunting, please, in future, read all of the relevant posts before posting

Can't really see what you're moaning about then, unless it's purely to elicit a reaction.

Glad you got one dog back at least. Sorry to hear about the other one though.

Good on the bloke who stopped and waited - there are some good people out there apparently.

Sounds like the same thing happened mate. Our bitch was trained huneted for years, never been gun shy but she had started to have that cancer smell for a while and dog's who are dying eventually want to leave or bolt like holly did. Thats my honest perception of why she bolted, but the puppy (milly) was getting trained and she followed the dominant dog. It's normal really as you'd probably know. Never saw holly again as she bolted on the breacon beacons where there was open land for 50miles untill the english border. Basically it would have been a needle in a haystack,.

I just want to say thank you to the guy who gave us our dog back. My pets are like family members

Yeah flip I'd love to think that's what happened. But in a way if it has happened then I'm also dissapointed that they haven't given details in, because I will always be thinking that she could be somewhere and be alive but someone is too selfish to leave her go and report it. So its bittersweet with that thought if that makes sense. On the whole though that is what id prefer to think. Be nice to know she was happy and safe.

Sorry for writing so much, but I miss her so much. It's like someone has died. I'm sure you know what I mean.

Flip: Mate i've decided i'm not giving up on this bastard vinyl cutter and i'm determined im goint to at least get your design sorted. This ain't beating me. When it's done i'll let you know and then send it to you. I can't let it beat me Shocked

My daughters rabbit is certainly a pest.
Bought for her last year... after months and months of: "I love rabbits, I will wuv him forever .. wuv him and wuv him ... and look after him and wuv him " etc etc.
Eventually gave in after the missus waded in with "I want a rabbit too".

Year later ... who cleans it out and feeds it in morning ? Me.
Does it get cuddled every day ? No.
Does it eat its way through the hutch at an alarming rate, and therefore costing me a fortune in rabbit hutches every 6 months ? Yes.

You can come round and 'pest control' the 2 fat guinea pigs too if you want.
I will leave a bottle of whiskey by the back door.

I wouldn't give up hope fella. I read of a jack russel that was trapped down a rabbit warren for 25 days without food before managing to get out and back to it's owner!

Fingers crossed she comes back for you. I can imagine you're somewhat distraught with it all. It reinstates your faith in the human race, what with, someone going through all of that just to make sure the dog was picked up.
