Thinking about Roo Roo's thread. Don't expect people to say if they have but if you can vote. Have you knowingly (spelling?) ridden pissed/over the limit?
(Feel free not to comment or vote if voting is not anomynous (spelling?) )
This is not a trick question.

Well I've never ridden the same night, and I always leave 8 Hours between me riding and my last drink, also I maximise myself to 4 Pints a night if I'm working the morning after!
But there are times when I surcumb to temptation and have 6 Pints and in the mornings when I get up I feel a bit dizzy, there are times I've downed a few pints of Tea and coke and got myself on the bike and felt better, but others I ring into work sick. |

I once had a can of beer at about 4pm, had a huge kebab, and went out at 8pm or so. It gives you so much more confidence, wont be doing it again though as the risk is too great even if you believe it has not affected your driving/riding |

I won't, and havn't riden the same night or early morning after drinking, but I have riden the day after (it's not morning it's normally mid afternoon type time by the time I actually wake up and I have to be un-drunk enough to be able to put my stuff together and sort stuff out and after trying to find where I've put something in G's living room and successfully finding it it'd be fair to say that after that test you're safe enough to do anything . (As anyone who has been there will agree on ) |

After a heavy drinking session I woke up at about 11am, having been drinking heavily until about 2am, waited until 2pm, went down the road, came back, I was in no state to ride.
And since then, I never drink/ride have a hangover/ride.
I wait until I am 100% sober/feeling okay. ____________________ 04 Suzuki GSX-R 600 K4 - Sex on wheels :>

I wouldn't dare. Well actually I haven't had a single drink since I passed my driving test 2 years ago. Most definetely wouldn't do it and I usually get all angry if one of my mates even thinks about it. ____________________ Honda NSR125R -> Suzuki GSXR400R GK76a -> Kawasaki ZX636 B1H -> Honda CBR400RR NC29 -> Nothing |

Its illegal for a very good reason, at the end of the day your responsible or anything or anyone you run into, your licence would be gone if your caught, youd be sent to insureance hell for the rest of your days, and thats if you managed to do it without killing yourself or another innocent passer by...
I don't ride if i have been drinking the same day at all, or the day after till at least afternoon..
When i go out, i go on my bike, so when i go out i don't drink, as such its been months since i last had any alcahol, and though i can imagine people shuddering at the thought its not such a big deal (appart from coke costing more than beer ) its far funnyer to laugh at your mates makeing complete arses of themselfs, then being able to relay it back to them .
I don't see why its worth haveing any if your rideing, is it really worth the risk? do you wan't to be stood filling your pants when you have a roadside breathizer test just in case you miscalculated how huch you had?
not only that 1unit may affect a 10stone 18year old very differently than it would a 20stone 40year old with a liver like a chemical wasted disposal plant.
Iv'e felt light headed after one pint, ive drank whisky, absinth, aftershock, (all at least doubles and a few of each) couple of newkey browns and several others in the same night, got out of the club ad been stone cold sober (bloody annoying it is too, spent £60 and didn't get drunk??!)..
To be perfectly honest and allthough many totaly dissagree the limit should be 0 units. would you want your airline pilot to be flying you arround when he was any less than absoloutely sober? ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

I don't drink at all so it was an obvious answer for me... but I think you'd have to be insane to go out on a bike drunk. I don't imagine you'd have anything near the control required... ____________________ "The problem with the French is they have no word for 'entrepreneur' " George W Bush

Not 100% certain, but after rnb 2003 I am pretty sure I rode home over the limit . Had drunk way too much (maybe ) on the last night there but didn't really think too much about the effect it would have on me the next day. As everyone else left the field I decided to wait another hour or so but was eventually asked to leave so the orgnisers could finish tidying up.
Rode home okay but really didn't feel quite like I would usually feel before riding. Nowadays I tend not to drink too much if I know I am riding the next day. ____________________ "Unlike public school you don't need to have your arse up and your head down to go a long way...." |

It is always the day after drinking when its just kind of running through your mind as to if you're actually okay enough to be riding. Feeling okay enough, but wondering if I'm actually up to it, and legally allowed to be. I've been considering getting myself one of those little gadget things which you blow into and it tells you what your alcohol level is. Still not to be used as an excuse to ride if I'm feeling crappy, but it'd give me a bit of re-assurance the day after that I am actually okay enough to ride, or a way of telling me that I'm borderline and it'd not be such a good plan.
Have had times when I've been feeling a bit not 100% yet, so would be useful to have an impartial thing which will let me know what it reckons the score is.
Anyone ever used, or know any of these? (and the ones the police have don't count as they do work or I hope they do ) |

The next morning is so difficult to judge A 12 hour rule is so wise
The thing that scares me is when someone is so pissed they think they are sober! They would think they are fine |

I think I am gonna stop drinking for a while, because I like to be able to jump on my bike anytime, any place, and be on my way.
Drinking can ruin a good weekend morning ride out.
And riding is more fun than drinking IMO. ____________________ 04 Suzuki GSX-R 600 K4 - Sex on wheels :>

I didn'y drink for a very long time after passing my CBT because I didn't like the idea of not riding my bike.
You are what you drink. Robby I thought you would be a bitter man. |
