I want to see a MotoGP race next summer and Assen 26th June ties in perfectly with my European trip.

Has anyone been to this GP? What did you think of the race? And the seating?

Can anyone recommend some good seats from this link:

Went there some years ago - was one of the late 500cc GPs to give you an idea.
Just wandered around rather than paying for seats. Plenty of good viewing positions, though the best were taken earlier.

Oh and despite it being sponsored by Rizla, there was absolutely nowhere selling skins of any kind Sad. Ended up having to ask Dutch people for three small-skins, which confused them.

Think it's still the same - when I was there they had the 'Assen TT' which included a load of more local races over the general time. There was a really good 'party atmosphere' in the camp sites closer to the circuit. Camp further out if you want some peace and quiet.

You can just meander around yes. That was good enough for us tbh. We did just wander into some seats anyway, the stewards are not as strict as in the UK.

Bear in mind, it WILL rain! Always does at Assen but the party atmosphere is excellent.

I would reccomend that you stay at a site (if you are camping) outside the circuit, unless you do not mind not sleeping! I can recommend one if you want. Check the vid to see what I mean...

To and from the UK I usually camp at Camping Berger in Cologne so i'd be travelling from there to Assen - What time would i need to get there?

Then i'd camp elsewhere that evening while waiting for my ferry, train back to the UK.

No specific time to arrive, just get there in time for the races. The circuit is easily accessible and entrance time is good.

Digging up this as its getting closer to the time

All the searching i've done says that you have to pay £50 general admission.

I thought you were saying that you could turn up free, and wonder around.

actually the stewards ARE strict and you certainly won't be able to get into the seating areas unless you have a ticket.
Assen is my local circuit (I live just over an hour away). Its a great circuit, great atmosphere.
Last year the weather was good during the racing but it chucked it down on the ride home

Fraid no screens on the outside. If you don't pay to go in all you'll be able to do is listen to the roar as they go round the circuit

Err, but we did go into seating. What I said was the stewards, when I was there, were not as strict as in the UK.
