Buying a sports bike on A1 license

Hello there all. Hope everyone is making the most of the half decent weather we have been experiencing. I just wanted to ask the more knowledgable a question.

I purchased a sports bike on a a1 license and all invoices for previous work carried out by the one previous owner was available. Amongst these were "one tooth smaller front sprocket" and "fitted yellow box" and "Fitted PC3". Since I don't know how to check if such changes are still on there I was wondering if the showroom that sold the bike will have taken these off when Restricting it to 33bhp? I would be gutted if these changes to the bike were removed lol but the ad for the bike never mentioned the Yellow Box and smaller front sprocket so Im not too sure. please help?

First off, if you are actually keeping it at 33hp, why would you be 'gutted' if it didn't have a power commander? Even with one, a lot of the time the marginal power gains can be got without it by turning the throttle slightly earlier .
Lower gearing makes sense for a restricted bike, but a brand new front sprocket will be under £20, so no great loss.
Are you aware what a yellow box does? Think they're pretty cheap now, but only use if you've got the gearing changes really (actually, some use anyway I suppose).

A1 is a 125cc/14.6bhp licence isn't it?

If you have got an A1 license then you can only ride a 125cc bike so I assume you mean A2 license.

If you bought the bike having been told it's got a power commander and given the paperwork to show that then even if they did take it out when restricting the bike then they should have given it to you. Look up online where the power commander would go on your bike and look to see if it is fitted.

Did they fit an FI International restrictor kit or something else?

Yes my mistake I meant A2 lol. But yes it was advertised with the PC3 and I requested it to be switched off so I assume that's still in there but disconnected. The yellow box and smaller front sprocket was not in the ad but the invoices from the previous owner shows the work done for a yellow box and sprocket. All the manuals for the parts installed were given.

EDIT: yes a fi international kit was also installed. A throttle stop and inlet blade

What bike are you restricting for the needs of washers and an throttle stop?

Its normally one or the other, throttle stop is cheaper but if you get used to winding the throttle all the way back all the time then when you come to de-restrict it you will have abit of a shock lol.

Washers (I have these) these generally make your bike run a bitty crappy, theses are installed into the carbs and restrict air / fuel etcc...

I am guessing he will be 'gutted' because he was under the impression he paid for these things, and they add value to his bike. Also after two years (knowing little about the listed items) I would assume they are things which he would want on his bike; for cool factor if not for marginal performance gains

I jusy looked under the passenger seat and no PCIII there and under the rider's seat there is a velcro strip (im assuming the PCIII was here before). It has been 4 months since I got the bike from Dobles and was wondering if it would be worth giving them a call as the manuals and USB cable for the PCIII were supplied to me...
